Truly a wonderful hotel.

Pros: Loved its location but above all the attitude of the staff and how comfortable they made you feel along with how nice the hotel was.
Cons: The only area I would say they need to improve is their coffee.
Location: Within walking distance to Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden Palace, shopping mall and a Dadong for your roast duck experience.
Recently stayed and cannot say enough nice things about this hotel. It was exceptionally clean, the room was wonderful, importantly the bed was easy to fall asleep on, the location was great in close proximity to attractions and shops and I have to commend the attitude of all the staff at the hotel. They were great. Nothing was too much trouble and every time you were greeted with a smile and genuine comments. If there was one thing I had to say that they could improve on, it would be their coffee, can’t say that was good but the rest of the food was fine. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a hotel in Beijing.

Subpar service and old condition

Hotel location and room size are very great. However, experience started poorly as we had to wait 40min for our room to be ready although it was 7pm already. Generally the service does not match top 5 star hotels. Moved to Ritz after 2 days which was another world. Do not recommend.

Very convenient location

Excellent location, large room. The down side of it was the bath room was not very clean, not a 5-stars kind of cleanliness. Mould and black stains on many corners of the shower box. The concierge were very helpful.

Finest hotel I've ever stayed in!

Pros: Everything about it, the old-world luxury, the beautiful suites, the amazing service, lovely breakfast. It was a wonderful part of our trip to Beijing
Cons: Can't think of a thing to improve on.
Location: It is a few minutes walk from Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, shopping and restaurants. Ask the hotel to arrange tickets for the Forbidden City.
This is a beautiful hotel in one of the best locations in Beijing. We were pampered by the friendly staff, and thrilled with the luxurious rooms. We found an amazing rate on TripAdvisor that made it less expensive than hotels half their quality. I would recommend this to everyone! Wilson at the front desk was friendly and helpful, and Mason the consierge went above and beyond in his services.

Historic hotel with international perspective

Cons: Minibar prices are much higher than comparable 5 star hotels.

As good as it gets!

Pros: The luxury and size of the rooms. And the excellent service.
Cons: Nothing. It is excellent.
Location: Walking distance from the Forbidden City and around the corner from Wangfujing shopping street.
A heritage building that is one of the best hotels in Beijing. Luxurious throughout, our suite (a free upgrade) was spectacular. And what a location! Walking distance from the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square, plus it is just around the corner from the trendy Wangfujing pedestrian mall. The staff is highly attentive - the airline lost one of our bags, and the staff maintained contact and got it delivered directly to the hotel. Everything was perfect with our stay!

Hotel staffs were professional. The location is excellent and convenient to visit many places, though the room was quiet and clean, and could relax.

離王府井很近, 位置十分好. 十分有歷史性的酒店. 北京交通塞車情況嚴重, 酒店在市中心, 到景點和機場要預留更多時間.

Historical hotel and good services

big size convenient and quiet room,the bed was very comfortable,not too soft either not too hard.The only problem is to get taxi from the hotel,specialy when have a business meeting and can not be late.I have not experienced similar kind of problem before in some the other hotel at Beijing when I stayed before.

In specific we have noted your comment in regards to the difficulty and inefficiency of taxi services. The taxi situation around the location of our hotel has been challenging since the day I joined this hotel. There are a number of restrictions in place that limit our flexibility and freedom to receive taxis, compared to other major areas of the city. We have been unsuccessful until this moment with local taxi drivers to find a way around these restrictions. However, this shall not be an excuse for the shortcomings you experienced but an explanation and motivation for us to continue our ambition to finalize an alternative arrangement with a limousine provider that will allow us to provide safe, reliable and continuous transportation in front of the hotel by having entry level limousines such as VW Passat available for our guests at very competitive fixed rates to the 2nd 3rd and 4th ring road areas. This is an added service, for which the hotel will not take any revenue share as we see it as a necessity and basic service for our guests.
