Pros: I loved the Location, staff, service, hotel ambience, restaurant, everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would highly recommend!
Cons: There was nothing I didn't like, it was as close to perfect as could be!
Location: Located in the famous Doncheng district, shopping and dining everywhere, and walking the streets around it display its old culture, too

Amazing Chinese hotel experience - go stay here!

Posted Oct 31, 2016
Cons: A lift to the top floor would have been nice :-)
This is an amazing Chinese Hotel. Built in a courtyard fashion in Shijia Hutong – Chinese tourists come and visit you. You are a few minutes walk from Dengshikou Tube station. Travel by tube – it’s the easiest and cheapest way to get around. There is a traffic police station just 1 minutes walk away from the hotel. The whole area is safe, delightful in its old Chinese structures and feels very much like a community. The restaurant in the hotel is superb. Chinese and westerners come and visit it. It’s not expensive and has a good mixture of Chinese & western food. The service is super. I cannot speak highly enough of the reception staff. They went out of their way to help in so many ways. Suggesting restaurants, helping with us organising a tour to the great wall (let them negotiate with the tour company), and organising our trips to and from the Airport. If, like us, it’s a long haul flight to Beijing Airport, and you’re unfamiliar with the language etc let them pick you up from the airport for 300RMB. No hassle. The hotel itself is beautiful inside, with wooden staircase. They leave out writing for you to try, and have various cultural items and events. We were too busy and missed them, but they’re there if you want them. One downside is that there’s no lift. We were on the top (4th floor) so it’s a bit of a walk when you’ve been out walking all day. However, very quiet at night. I cannot recommend the hotel highly enough.

Charming courtyard hotel

Staff extremely helpful, pleasant and polite and spoke very good English. The courtyard was beautiful and very well kept. Overall facilities of the hotel were satisfactory and we would stay here again and have recommended this hotel to friends who will be visiting Beijing in the near future.

A Chinese experience

Posted Jun 5, 2016
Cons: Air conditioner not up to snuff.
I loved this hotel. It's not a big western chain that could be anywhere in the world. This is a small boutique hotel that has a definite Chinese feel. The staff is excellent and most accommodating. The room was very nice, though one bed was just a day bed and quite hard. The staff brought in an extra pad to help with that issue. The bathroom was great - very large and with a huge wooden tub. The only issue with the room was the air conditioner didn't work. The restaurant on-site was amazing. Breakfasts were some of the best I've had and dinners were so good we brought friends to enjoy them, also.

Beautiful boutique hotel in hutong

Posted May 16, 2016
If you are looking for a traditional Beijing experience staying in a hutong (narrow street, 2 levels high), you will love this hotel. Boutique, traditional styling, friendly staff, great service, chilled atmosphere. Close to the subway (5-6 min walk). Stay here, you won't regret it!

Great hotel, great staff, good location

Posted May 4, 2016
Pros: Garden / restaurant, cozy atmosphere, good location
Cons: Wifi a bit spotty
Location: Location quite central, close to the Forbidden palace, big malls and shops, and many nice restaurants
The hotel is in good location, close to public transportation, restaurants, shops. The garden area / restaurant, however, is a bit hidden with a really cozy atmosphere, which provides a nice quiet getaway. Even the locals come here just to have dinner. The room was nice and cozy as well, and the staff very helpful and attentive. We would definitely stay here again.
