great hotel in the heart of the city.

Our experience was made extremely positive by the vivacious english speaking female concierge manager who organised everything we needed immediately!

部屋も綺麗で申し訳ありませんでした。当日は天気も良く、西に北京の山並みも見えました。近くにコンビニがなかったのが少し残念。

Geen 5-sterren waardig hotel

Posted May 29, 2016

Excellent except for one thing

Posted May 8, 2016
Pros: Location, room quality, friendly staff
Cons: Air-conditioning in rooms is an issue - unbearably hot in room on 19th floor and really cold in room on 7th floor
Location: location good for getting to forbidden city and decent shopping centre a couple of blocks away. Good quality Japanese restaurant just down the road.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. Concierge was very good when I required direction and assistance - English perfectly sound. The hotel common areas are good. The quality of food and drinks was a bit hit and miss but overall decent. The location of the hotel is well suited for tourist sites, shopping centre and heading out to Sanlitun. The only downside was when I arrived I was given a room on the 19th (Top) floor and whilst it was a great room with a view it was very hot - ie. air conditioning not working properly. I raised this with front desk and they said they would send someone to check it out. That didn't happen. Anyway I coped for the first night. I was out all day the following day and the second night was unbearably hot. I complained during the middle of the night and said I would be requesting a change of room as I had a further 4 nights. The manager was very nice in the morning. She changed me to an Executive room which was great (however it was actually very cold) and I asked her to comp me for the previous nights. She would not do that but she did give me complimentary breakfast and access to the executive floor with free drinks and food at certain times of the day/evening. The executive lounge quality of food is much better than executive lounges at other 5 star hotels I've stayed at. So overall, I would recommend the hotel as it is decent value for the overall quality but they clearly have an issue with air conditioning that needs to be addressed.

Outstanding Hotel with Fantastic Staff

Posted Apr 13, 2016
Pros: Everything !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cons: Nothing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Location: overlooking the forbidden city, great choice of restaurants nearby and in the hotel
After much searching we finally elected to stay at the Regent, this was an outstanding choice !!! we arranged for the hotel to pick us up from the airport ( cost around £60 each way) each way ,great choice we were met by a lovely girl from the hotel and a driver and transferred in a large Audi ( hotel has Rolls Royce's if that's your choice) on arrival at the hotel we were offered an upgrade to a suite ( cost around £75 per night) we took this upgrade, the suite (1640) overlooked the forbidden city , this comprised of a toilet washroom at the entrance then into a large lounge with settee and table a separate table and chairs TV with Bose stereo system, fridge with free stocked mini bar snacks water and beer ,desk with chair and panoramic views of the city. . the next room , the bedroom( biggest most comfortable bed ever !!!!) again with large TV several large wardrobes ,slippers gowns,, safe , luggage storage area, then into the large bathroom ,double sinks separate toilet cubicle separate walk in shower area with large shower, bath and again a TV , all the usual nick nacks with molton brown toiletries .the rooms were kept immaculately clean during our one week stay with very nice staff in attendance. The upgrade gives you free access to the the Regent Club on the 17th floor , here you can enjoy a free and extensive range of foods for breakfast with great service, this area also provides a free 2 hour bar with fantastic snacks between 6pm and 8pm the bar is self service

Heating/Cooling doesn't work, other facilities ok

Posted Apr 11, 2016 on Wotif
Pros: The location is good and the swimming pool and Jacuzzi are great
Cons: The cooling / heating in the rooms was shocking, our room was like a sauna (30 degrees Celsius). BIG shortage of taxis coming to the hotel
Location: 15 minutes walk from Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. Great local restaurants nearby, try restaurant 161 and Da Dong ((5 min walk away)
We had 4 people in 2 rooms for a 5 days stay at the Regent Beijing in late March 2016 (Spring). When we arrived the temperature gauge in both rooms said it was 30 degrees Celsius (86 F) in the rooms. We asked the front desk to fix the cooling or move us, they couldn't fix it and said there were no other rooms. On day two when we asked again to be moved, we tried 5 rooms before finding two under 25 degrees. When we moved, we were more able to enjoy the hotel. Good sized rooms, lovely breakfast buffet, huge swimming pool and adequate gym. The front desk staff and concierge could do with some more customer training, eg on problem solving and dealing with issues efficiently, but they were friendly and tried to help. I had to go up 4 levels of management to get them to throw in a complimentary breakfast for 2 of us for the inconvenience we suffered with the hot rooms and moving rooms.

Dear Jodi, Thank you for sharing your comments with us and recommending us. I am glad to read your kind words about our colleagues and good location. Please accept my sincere apologies for the air conditioning in your room. Indeed we had issues with the switch from heating to cooling that is initiated in the middle of March by the Chinese government and the warm temperatures in the week of your stay. I hope we can welcome you back again. My apologies for the inconvenience that was caused to you. Sincerely Uli S. Altrichter | Director of Sales & Marketing Regent Beijing

Nice hotel at a convenient location

Posted Apr 10, 2016
Very pleasant stay at this wonderful hotel! It is conveniently located at the heart of the city, close to the subway station and numerous attractions. The hotel staff is not only friendly, but also very considerate. The hotel facilities are equally impressive with two rooms of exercise machines/equipment, one room for aerobics and yoga classes, and a spectacular pool. I would recommend this to anyone with no reservation.

Mit freundlichem Gruss Uli S. Altrichter | Director of Sales & Marketing Regent Beijing
