Was here for business trip with a colleague. Due to delay I checked in at 5AM. I book through hotels.com and the confirmation state include breakfast. But my colleague said during checkin they said it didn't, weird.
Overall design was nice, finishing is not bad too quite luxury. The pathway can be confusing and not enough direction signage. Hotel location on the address is written North East third ring road, but geographically it's on the middle of North third ring road. The surrounding is office and there are some nice restaurant nearby, plus there is a cinema nearby too. But location wise is a bit uptown, however not far from Chaoyang Wai.
Room design and size was nice. Here's some pro and con.
Pro
Room is nice. Clean layout. High tech media hub that is hidden nicely. Amenity is nice. Walk in rain shower, gotta love those. The rest are just great, clean and functional like a Sheraton should.
Con
Bathroom design is weird, there was 2 doors, no locks and it doesn't close tightly. The rainshower leaks badly to the main bathroom, I guess the rubber seal is not enough and you just have to make a fortress of towels. Last the walls are paper thin and you can hear the water running through the walls in the morning, if your neighbor take a shower. There is a small place for soap in the shower, but it's really small.
All of these issue are hardware, so I doubt they can fix it. So just best to know your way around it.
Here's a small thing, I put my pajamas on the bed and when they were cleaning the bed. Instead of putting it back on the bed, they just left it on the table. Something the housekeeping or a bit of training can work on, I've experienced this in other hotels where housekeeping would help fold and put my pajamas back nicely on the bed. They did do it on the second day, just training and consistency is needed.
On a final room note, the housekeeping push the bell notoriously like 3-4 times non stop on Sunday 10AM asking if there is laundry, I thought they are suppose to bell once and wait a bit instead of pushing non stop. I know there are a lot of rooms to serve, but at least wait a bit? Again, training.
Breakfast was good and decent, many options. Including the Sheraton signature restaurants. There seems to be 3-4 restaurants. But didn't have time to try it this round. Though the kitchen counters could use cleaning a lot, as it gets really messy all over the place due to volume of people eating. They should assign someone to just keep cleaning, otherwise the furniture and kitchen will stain over time. They don't proactive serve coffee, so you need to look or ask; then some time they serve you the coffee without spoon. So just some training a will fix this quickly.
