Luxury in Hamra

Pros: Great breakfast buffet, great room service, amazing staff.
Cons: My only suggestion: put a table and chairs on every room balcony.
I always stay at the Gefinor, and I always love it.

Attending a Lebanese Wedding

Pros: Nothing to share. Below expectations on all criteria for a 5 star hotel!!
Cons: change management, train staff, be transparent and honest in the website, better service.

very disappointing and misleading. check in counter staff rude. 15 minutes waiting for check in. hotel has 2 buildings - website pictures are for new high rise building (built 20 year ago) but 1 bedroom apartments are all located in a very old (80 year old) 4 story building in the back side. To go to your room, you have to get out in the heat. City view is in fact the view of a back street and a busy parking lot and ambulances to next door hospital and to the wall of a next door dirty building literally 15 feet away from window. balcony is 1 ft x 2 ft with no privacy (see pictures). Requested non smoking room - big/cigar ashtray on the coffee table in the seating area!!! Requested high floor got 1st floor. No CNN. No TV Guide. stains all over carpet. Bathroom is too small (1 small sink) for a 5 star hotel!! bathroom tiles broken and dirty. no one answer (concierge, room service, front desk) calls. Majority of staff (cleaning, restaurant) are from Asian countries - way to go to support local economy and reduce unemployment. For breakfast, 1 chef for +50 people. No sign that eggs, French toast, etc. are available. By 10:00am, they stop replenishing the buffet. Every thing you ask for, they respond "hotel is under renovation"!!! What a joke. 1 set of newspapers in lobby only- no room delivery. I rate the hotel 2 stars.

Lovely 2 bedroom suite. Quiet, clean, spacious and very comfortable. The location is central to many attractions. Would gladly stay there again.

Ideal location

Very central hotel ideal for restaurants and bars. Reception staff and cleaning staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel swimming pool too small and the staff here don't seem to follow rules on several things regarding safety. The hotel is going to have a face lift hopefully another pool or bigger one. Don't know how a 5 star hotel can run out of toilet roll and cream. This is a problem for management. Saying that I will return soon and the negatives will have been reversed.

Overall Wonderful but overpriced laundry service

It was excellent overall. However, the laundry prices were outrageous $170 for a few undergarments and some jeans. For someone staying for a while & needing laundry service that was a disappointment. Everything else was amazing.

Loss of confidence and trust

A perfume I purchased in Heathrow disappeared from my room, then I lost a pair of shoes later found. Last I was told I ate in the hotel the night before checking out, untrue though they accepted my explanation
