Quiet Hotel

Posted Jul 30, 2017
Everything was great. Quiet, on beach, activities. Tex-Mex dinner was not as described - another Indian based buffet.

Lovely staff, pretty good all-inclusive

Posted Jul 19, 2017
Pros: The staff. Location pretty good - beachside, lots of sports and other activities available.
Cons: Replenishing the main buffet at dinner after 8pm.
I stayed there on my own for five nights as part of a Mauritius Marathon package. The staff are super-lovely - really helpful and friendly - although at times seemed a little baffled about my being on holiday solo (the place is more used to couples and families). The accommodation is not particularly sympathetic to the local environment (brick/red tiles made it feel very package tour resort-y, which I guess it is!) But Inside the rooms are of good size, kept very clean, beds super kingsize/comfortable and generous bathrooms. I had an all-inclusive package - my first experience of this. I found the main buffet-style restaurant a little hit-and-miss in terms of quality for dinner, particularly if you tried to eat after 8pm. Compared with other regular 4* hotels I've stayed in breakfast was good in terms of variety and quality of food. The Playa Restaurant, which you have to book for dinner at least 24 hours ahead, was much more consistent (for lunch and dinner), and with a menu and waiter/waitress service a lot more relaxing, quieter, and couples-friendly. House wine is fine, house cocktails were far from stingy on booze, but did tend to be heavy on sugar syrup - not my thing, but the staff there were very happy to alter recipes. Airport transfers were organised very quickly and efficiently by the resort. The spa is lovely - treatments are London+ prices. Conclusion: solid bet if you want comfort, ease, and aren't too bothered about feeling like you are in Mauritius.

Not your average All-Inclusive!

Posted Jul 3, 2017
Pros: It is very relaxing. Although large, it doesn't feel crowded. It has been sensitively and thoughtfully designed in keeping with the island.
Cons: You have to still sign for everything despite being All-inclusive - I understand this is for tracking/stock-taking but it is a clunky process
Location: The joy of this part of the island is that it is not built-up so there is little to do outside of the hotel within walking distance.
What a wonderful place! The hotel is beautifully designed and maintained, clean and relaxing, although large it doesn't feel crowded. The staff are open and friendly and keen to ensure you are always happy. The food is incredible and the range and quality of the buffet (dinner especially!) is truly impressive. The burger van is also really high quality and great fun for lunch. There are lots of wonderful places to chose from to relax and always beds available. We especially enjoyed a few days in the Spa area. Speacial shout out to Roma, Joanna and Niram who made our stay extra special! The beach is clean and beautiful and sheltered by the natural reef and offered amazing views everyday and sunsets every evening. The complementary mini-bar is a lovey touch as are the bowls of iced soft drinks dotted around the grounds every day and the fresh iced tea/tamarin juice etc. Thank you Tamassa!

Totally worth the money and the time to fly there!

Posted Jun 16, 2017
Pros: Food, service, location, facilities, entertainment.
Cons: I admit I am very picky when it comes to cleanness. For my standards, this was the area for improvement.
Location: We went out only one morning to do some souvenir shopping in the nearby village. By the way, things are a lot cheaper there.
We stayed at Tamassa Resort for a week. This review is a comparison with other all inclusive resorts we have experienced so far and Tamassa is definitely the winner. The staff was very friendly and what we liked was that they do not expect to receive tip for every drink they serve you. The service was excellent and the food is AWESOME! Beach is wide and there are plenty beach chairs hence you don't have to rush in the morning to reserve a good spot. The resort has great facilities to entertain all guests no matter of age. It is obvious for us that the resort maintains a high standard as there were white table cloths in every restaurant, the tables were properly set with cutlery for appetizer, dinner and desert and there were no paper napkins flying around. Upon our arrival, one reception staff escorted us to the room and entertained a basic discussion. We told her that our visit is on honeymoon. The following day, we received a dinner invitation to the beach restaurant. The table was preassigned and there was a special menu card especially for us, compliments of Tamassa. Of course, the dinner was included in the all-inclusive however the Chef prepared a special menu for us different than the regular dinner menu of the night.

We absolutely loved the Tamassa Resort. Great hotel, friendly staff, wonderful setting, amazing food. All positives, no negatives. Partway through our stay we were offered a free upgrade to the 5-star Lux Le Morne. This topped off our holiday. So glad that we did it all-inclusive--good value.

Nice resort

this us s beautiful resort, relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff who can't do enough for you. Unfortunately we soon realised this type of holiday was not right for us, but if you want an all inclusive holiday with total relaxation you will love it. The dos area is lovely and watersports are included.
