Tru By Hilton St. Louis Downtown

10/10 Excellent

"This was a unique experience compared to a traditional family hotel with a pool for our children, being in the downtown "big" city of St. Louis. Everything was within walking distance overall, approx 10-20 min away. There were multiple homeless in the streets which was a good experience for the kids to see, but did make us a little cautious about our walk back at night post Cardinal's evening game, but we managed. A shuttle service would be so nice to get to the main sight-seeing spots near the arch and Busch stadium. I also was not aware it was only valet parking until we arrived, We luckily found a great parking spot, but this would have been a deal-breaker for us if I had known that it was only valet when booking the hotel."

"Would be nice to have a microwave in the room. The direct television was limited in the rooms. Had to go down too the hotel lobby to watch a big Nationally televised college football game which could only be view if you had the Direct TV sports package. The package was only on the lobby television in the bar area."

"Let's start with...we have stayed here several times & love it! Started with Patrick at the front desk gave us dinner recommendations & helpful hints to take the train to Busch Stadium. He was very helpful & very personable. He even remembered us when we checked out & asked if we enjoyed the game! If you've ever stayed here, you know how amazing the bathroom/showers (yes plural) are! Now the not so good...we had our 15 year old son with us, who was sleeping on the pull out couch. We looked & looked, but could not find bedding anywhere, so we called the front desk for some. They brought a set of sheets but no blanket or anything. Including no pillow. Upon opening the pull out couch, there was still a dirty sheet on it and a pillow shoved down the back of the couch. Also during our stay, the parking garage was under construction so it couldn't be utilized as well as previous visits. None of these were deal breakers and we will definitely stay here again!"
