Very affordable with great amenities. Valdimar at front desk was exceptional! Staff was very accommodating and pleasant. Eduardo mixed great drinks and kept everyone at the bar laughing and having fun.

Come on Belize

Posted Aug 14, 2015
Pros: It's on the beach
Cons: Expand the restaurant menu options, and put ceiling fans on all the balconies.
Location: the sea the sea the sea
The hotel is fine, new but basic. Rooms are big and comfortable but the air conditioning is noisy. The big deal about Belize is it is over priced. Traveling as a family of four you burn through cash. Yes the reef diving is wonderful but $ for $, especially for families, take the same vacation in Mexico.

Resort seems to be more resident based

Posted Aug 13, 2015
Pros: Staff
Cons: Stock and adequately staff restaurant and pool bar.
Location: Location is beautiful, but at approx 3.5 miles from town, you are either a good 20 minute golf cart or 10 minute boat ride from restaurants, bars, etc
I can only speak to the off season dynamics. High season may be different. It appears that a high proportion of resort occupants are residents and not guests. As a result, certain basic hotel amenities, like an adequately staffed and inventoried restaurant and pool bar and not consistent. Pool towels are not available at the pool and must be requested. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, even considering the lack of infrastructure, which made the stay very pleasant. Would recommend, but low season equals low amenities.

nice hotel close to beach

Posted Jul 19, 2015
Pros: simplicity and cleanliness
Cons: can't think of anything right now
Location: not really anything we eat next door menu was better for us we cycled into town loved that we could do that and there were water taxis also fun
no shop for forgotten items or just to brows. Provided a beach towel nice touch. Bar menu could have provided more sandwiches.

Thanks for the feedback, we are working on our menu and have added daily specials including a sandwich special several days of the week. Coco Cafe sells a small amount of sundry items and for those guests who have luggage issues or forgot items such as a toothbrush etc. we have several basics available complimentary at the Front Desk.

Best hotel to stay at!

Posted Jun 10, 2015
The hotel itself is beautiful, and the rooms are lovely. The pool and swim up bar are amazing, the hot tub too. The view is to die for. Most importantly, the people at the front desk were incredibly helpful and nice. The people working for the tours (Tuff Enough) were so good too! The people made our experience at this hotel and in Belize unforgettable!

Great hotel near world class diving

Posted Jun 8, 2015
Spent 10 days here, and had a great time. Beachfront suites were ideal, pool (with bar) was perfect for a relaxing afternoon, and staff were really helpful. There are quite a few nice restaurants nearby, or can rent golf carts to go further up the coast, or get a quick taxi boat into town. The barrier reef is a few minutes off the coast so really easy to get to some great dive sites (we dived with White Sands, who are based a 5 min walk up the beach).

Great way to spend a marriage anniversary

Posted May 19, 2015 on Hotels
We stayed here for our 25th marriage anniversary. The customer service by Jose was excellent. He upgraded us to an ocean front room. The room decoration was excellent. The fully equipped kitchen was an added bonus. The location couldn't be beat. The pool was excellent as well.

Belizean Shores Getaway

Posted May 10, 2015 on Hotels
The positives: Calm, quiet, and gorgeous. The best part of the hotel is that it is connected to it's higher-end sister property, CocoBeach, which has a fabulous pool/restaurant- so it feels like you're getting the best experience for the lowest price. PROTIP: The guys over at Tuff-E-Nuff tours are FANTASTIC. We swam with sharks (ask for the Candyman to take you), we zip lined, and we went Cave Tubing (which is a must, for real, you've never done anything like it.) and all of our tours which at first seemed expensive were totally worth it, in part because of the fantastic crew. The negs: 1. The Bed: If you like firm beds, you will be miserable at night. The bed is super soft and a little saggy. 2. Wifi: It's a lie. There is no wifi in the rooms, only a faint whisper of wifi by the pool. 2. Our Departure: Since you're in a foreign land, you expect that the hotel staff (who are otherwise, extremely nice and knowledgable) to know what they are talking about when it comes to what time you need to be at the airport, how to get there, etc. Our guy insisted that we NEEDED to be at the airport AT LEAST 3 hrs before our Belize to LA flight. We took his advice and he booked our water taxi/puddle jumper airplane to get there, and we ended up being at the airport 3 1/2 hrs before, when even the kiosks were closed for another hour. Also, BZE airport is TINY so the entire check in process took about 10 min, so we sat outside our gate for an additional 2 1/z hrs. Lame!

Dear Negin, We are happy to learn that you found the resort to be calm, quiet and gorgeous and that you enjoyed the services of our onsite tour operator. We are sorry you found the bed to be too soft. We are also sorry to learn that the WIFI did not work out well for you. We provide complimentary WIFI in the public areas of the resort and the service we provide is the best currently available in our area. We hope that the service on the island in the the country as a whole will be upgraded soon, but in the meantime, guests should be aware that the WIFI service will not be as strong, fast or reliable as they may be accustomed to in the Global North. Our local air carrier requires a 3 hour check in connection time and will not guarantee guests will make their international flight, and in some cases not even accept the local flight booking, should guests cut this connection time short. While we realize BZE is a small airport without much to do, our staff were only doing their job.
