Off-season stayPosted Aug 23, 2015
Needed a few nights at the end of a sailing trip. Lovely spot near the marina, great pools and food on site, some good restaurants within walking distance. Only negative (an August/seasonal problem I guess) was lots of seaweed so not much open beach. But the staff, comfort and ease of the place easily made up for it.

A BAD EXPERIENCE!!!Posted Aug 14, 2015 on Hotels
A PRAIA INEXISTE, POIS FOI TOTALMENTE ERODIDA PELO MAR, O QUE É INADMISSÍVEL PARA UM HOTEL DE PRAIA COM NOME "BEACH RESORT". PARA COMPLEMENTAR O DESASTRE, NA OCASIÃO A ORLA DE PLACENCIA ESTAVA TODA COBERTA POR ALGAS E LIXO, O QUE IMPOSSIBILITAVA SE CHEGAR PERTO DO MAR (CHEIRO INSUPORTÁVEL). O STAFF É ATENCIOSO, PORÉM QUANDO FALEI COM A GERÊNCIA DE MEU INTERESSE DE CANCELAR A ESTADIA, SE MANTIVERAM INFLEXÍVEIS, MESMO CASO TENTASSE UTILIZAR A "HOTEIS.COM" PARA FAZER A INTERMEDIAÇÃO. ME SENTI EM UMA ARAPUCA ("TRAP"). ALÉM DO MAIS, SUAS INSTALAÇÕES SÃO DE UM HOTEL DUAS ESTRELAS, COM PÉSSIMO CAFÉ DA MANHÃ.

Nice Hotel with beautiful view of the seaPosted Jun 6, 2015
Pros: Directly on the beach, nice and different places to relax, staff friendly, rooms well equipped and staff friendly and helpful
Cons: More beachchairs and little tables on the beach, to put things on them. Maybe a waiter at lunchtime so you can ask for something to order .
Location: Snorkeling was great, to the Silk caye.
Directly on the beach, nice installations, every thing working fine, We didn't miss anything

Robert's Grove Beach Resort - Placencia, BelizePosted Apr 20, 2015
Pros: Free WI-FI, 2 restaurants, free continental breakfast. The hotel has 3 small swimming pools, boogie boards, kayaks, bicycles, rental golf carts, etc
Cons: Wi-Fi signal strength + customer service. I reported loss of signal + phone problem no assistance was given. Bad seasonal seaweed problem + odor.
Location: The resort is within 4 miles from Placencia. On-site dive shop offers diving, snorkeling, fishing, and resort offers a variety of local excursions.
We stayed at Robert's Grove for 9 nights in late March 2015 and didn't quite miss the spring break crowd. The resort is lovely and has all the amenities of good resort that is away from the beaten path. The accommodations were good, the bed very comfortable and we not only had an ocean breeze but also air conditioning and a ceiling fan. The air temperature was about 85 degrees and the water temp was also around 80 degrees and pleasant. The walls are thin and voices carry freely. Unfortunately, the weather (this year) was unseasonably rainy which caused several of our snorkeling excursions to be cancelled and others to be challenging with strong currents and high waves. Highly recommend the snorkeling at Silk Caye, Glover's Reef, and Ranguana Caye. Dive staff are first class with snorkelers and divers, no one is left behind, the provided lunches were great (chicken or fish) with salad, and water or juice. Each snorkel trip lasted all day with a 1+ hour boat ride there and back, and two-snorkels.

Beach WeekPosted Mar 21, 2015
Pros: We stayed in Room 11 which had a beach view.
Cons: The property is older and could use some updating.
Location: We rented a car and went up in the hills with Selso to see the scarlet macaws. Fortunately we saw between 20-25. They are magnificent.
This was the last week of our four week Belizean holiday. Unfortunately the sea grass was out of control on all the beach areas we visited throughout Belize so no swimming from shore. However there are three pools at the Resort and it was never an issue to find a lounger. Food was good and reasonably priced. Staff was great, very friendly and helpful.

Roberts Grove Beach Resort - BelizePosted Mar 1, 2015 on Hotels
Roberts Grove was nice, a little rustic--but we liked that and the Staff were very helpful and friendly---especially the concierge staff. We booked trips each day, going multiple locations across the Country. The Snorkeling trips were both great, water was crystal clear and the Reefs in Belize were very healthy, the best we've seen in the past 11 years; and we've been to Bermuda, Bahamas, Cayman, St. Martin and Puerto Rico. Belize was the best by far.

Nice Place despite the rainPosted Dec 16, 2014
The hotel is very nice to relax in and the staff are very friendly. It is a place more for couples and families. The location on the peninsula means there is not much to do if it rains because beach, tours and diving are not so much fun in the rain. The town of Placencia has more going on for people traveling alone.
