Very cool hotel

Pros: Staff, creativity, rooms and the beach was great too!
Great boutique style hotel and hip. Somebody was very creative and put some thought into making your stay fun and classy. We stayed at 5 hotels in Mauritius and would highly recommend this location. We have stayed in over 150 hotels in the last 9 months and we talked about how the staff here seems to really enjoy there jobs. The overall design, vibe and layout of the Lux was a welcomed change as well as relaxing. The concept of the food truck, coffee bar and ice cream stand also add another layer to this location that you cannot find at most hotels.

Nice hotel - spectacular beah

Pros: Excellent beach and staff.
Cons: Better food at the main dining room at dinner. Still water provided free of charge at dinner.
We stayed at this hotel for a family wedding. It was my second time in Mauritius and my first time at this hotel. Here are the things that I liked about the hotel: 1. The staff are excellent. They are so polite and accommodating. I can't say enough positive things about them. 2. The room was modern, clean and spacious. The staff that cleaned the room were excellent and it was always spotless. It was also very convenient for accessing the main parts of the hotel, the beach and the pool. 3. The beach is so beautiful. The last time we were in Mauritius I was unimpressed but this beach is simply gorgeous and the water was sublime. 4. The breakfasts were very good. It includes your beverages such as lattes, etc. There was a very good selection. Here are the few things that I didn't like about the hotel: 1. There were a lot of young families. Nothing against young families but they do make a lot of noise and you hear babies crying and there are lots of kids running around the dining room. Perhaps it was just the time of year that we went. 2. The food in the dining room is average. I wouldn't call it five star. They also charged you for all water at dinner. There was no plain water available for consumption. We always order sparkling water but I do also like to have still water provided at no additional cost. Otherwise the hotel was excellent. The beach truly is lovely and so are the staff.

Wonderful hotel with great service. The only negative point is the baby sitter service... The minimum time is 3 hours and you have to pay transport too. With so many families staying with small kids at the hotel you would expect a better arrangement for example having dinner in peace (1-2 hrs) with little one taken care by babysitter. Kids club is great but will accept only kids from 3 years old. Our litlle boy is 2.5 years and then you require babysitter.

Lovely hotel

Lovely hotel and lovely staff. The buffet was excellent. Everything is kept in excellent order and well maintained and there is an attention to detail. We were sent off on our departure day with a picnic breakfast and a small gift. Very nice touches. Spa massages were among the best I’ve ever had. Water sport facilities and management were faultless. Only criticism is that they don’t seem to enforce the 45 minute towel on a bed rule - lot of bed hogging going on for whole days from early morning which meant popping out for an hour of sun in the afternoon could be difficult.

Amazing stay

Fantastic hotel with incredible service and attention to detail. The description 'Awesome vibe' from the main page sums it up really well. I would highly recommend it for couples on a romantic trip.

Utter Luxury

Had the best ever hotel experience staying here from check in until check out. On arrival we were greeted with wet towels, welcome drink and fruit. After checking in we were taken to our suite which was spectacular. The service provided by every member of staff made us feel very welcome. The little touches like the turn down service at night, the ice lollies given out on the beach and the snacks at the pool were like nowhere else we have ever stayed. By far the best hotel we have ever stayed in anywhere in the world!

Very kind, accommodating staff

Cons: It would be nice if beach toys were available for the kids to play in the sand on the beach.
LUX Belle Mare is a beautiful hotel on a beautiful beach. The staff is very helpful and everyone works hard to make sure your stay is 5 star. We were so happy with the Boathouse and with the daily treasure hunts which took us to the tea house where we had a very relaxed, informative tasting.
