A very nice hotel. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. I used the shuttle service often and they were very good about keeping up with the times of the conference and got us there in good time. The food was very good and the waitresses just as superb as the reception staff at the front desk.

A pleasant experiancePosted Sep 14, 2015
We had a very good experiance at the Lakewood Inn. The hotel lobby is beautiful, the staff was very friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. The only thing that was a little off putting was that they were in the midst of renovations but it wasn't noisy. Overall we will definatly be staying there again.

Close to Bellingham!Posted Sep 8, 2015
Pros: Easy to find location, short drive into downtown Bellingham.
Location: There is a bar/restaurant onsite, Fred Meyer, Woods Coffee. 5 min to downtown Bellingham.
This hotel is located right off of I-5, and conveniently next to a Fred Meyer. It's about a 5min drive into Bellingham center, and 10min to Fairhaven. The hotel lobby is well appointed, and staff was very friendly and efficient in check-in. The room was comfortable and clean. Our room was located around the atrium/pool. Noise from the pool woke us up in the morning. So if you're looking to sleep in, ask for a room away from the center atrium! Otherwise, a wonderful stay and would stay here again!

Poor design = very noisy, stinky stayPosted Aug 30, 2015
Pros: Renovated rooms. Comforters not blankets on the beds.
Cons: Pay attention to your pool noise. Fix your broken-down beds.
Location: This is basically in the parking lot of a Fred Meyer.
This hotel is centered around a central indoor courtyard with a pool. Lovely in theory, but horrible in execution. Terrible sound-proofing (and inconsiderate parenting) means that you'll hear screaming children and splashing until the pool closes at 10pm. We had a room on the exterior of the courtyard, but even there, we could smell the chlorine and feel the dampness from pool evaporation. The room was generally clean, but the king bed had ridiculously tiny pillows and its springs were completely shot on one side.

Up scale hotelPosted Aug 23, 2015
Pros: It was stylish and comfortable.
Location: The location was near the freeway for travelers. It was close to downtown Bellingham and very close to Westerb Washington University.
Hotel was well appointed and seemed to have had a recent upgrade. All furnishings looked new and stylish. This quality of hotel could compete with downtown hotels in Seattle, Vancouver, Dallas or other big cities - a surprise for Bellingham. The only detraction was the shower head. The shower was big and stylish but the shower head needed a quick maintenance job. We reported it to the front desk and they were going to send someone right up to do the repair Over all, it was a very nice hotel.

Massive construction ongoing ... was not notifiedPosted Aug 21, 2015
getting in and out of the hotel was a nightmare due to all the construction. Have stayed and worked at this hotel since its opening in the 1970's ... was very disappointed
