Great place to get photos. Windy days and sunsets are the best! Michigan Winter #winterwonders St Joseph, lighthouse.
Very cold! we love it! Stunning sunset. Ice formations build from wind and waves! Just magic 👍☝️ This was watching the ships come in at Silver Beach. Cute lighthouse on a fun beach! An awesome second-hand book store, coffeeshop/cafe, and thrift store...all in one! On a weekend brewery tour along southern Lake Michigan. Some nice brews hews here. Headed up the coast to Holland. Great beach and park tons of things to do in the town of St Joe
One of the best beaches in the US Took this photo on a windy day. We were sandblasted while walking around on the beach. This place is amazing, for years now it's been a family tradition to get ice-cream here every time we are in town at Silver Beach or one of the festivals.

Artist: Robin C. Sommers
Sponsors: Hon Thomas and Dr. Prudy (Barrett) Nelso
Dial 170
Robin is fairly new to the public eye. This is only her second year participating in the St. Joseph Public Art Display on the Bluff.
Although she comes from a family of professional artists and art teachers, she is a self-taught artist with no formal training. Her passion for all the arts, including music, started at a very early age. Her style is contemporary with just a hint of realism. She's experienced many different types of mediums, ranging from acrylic textures, oil, water color painting, drawing and graphic design. Robin occasionally competes in local and regional competitions and is active at the Box Factory for the Arts. If she can create, create, create...whether it's fine art, landscape design or gardening, that's where you'll find her.
The St. Joseph North Pier Inner and Outer Lights are lighthouses in Michigan at the entrance to the St. Joseph River on Lake Michigan. The station was built in 1832 with the current lights built in 1906 and 1907. They were decommissioned in 2005. Beautiful beach and beautiful sunsets!

Ryan and Heidi are life-long farmers in Baroda and Stevensville. Their two farms raise grain, hay, Black Angus and Texas Longhorn cattle. Ryan has a natural creative instinct that comes from a love of restoring tractors and metal working. Heidi has always enjoyed being creative and had some art classes during her school years.
Both Ryan and Heidi enjoy sharing their love of agriculture through art. Some of their past projects include Hot Cars Cool Beaches – Going to Market, Beach Bears – Bountiful Beauregard Bear, Snowmen – SnowGrinch, Surf'N'Safari – Cowlephant, Hot Diggity Dog - Cornelius, the Corndog Outstanding in his Field and last year's Barnyard at the Beach project a longhorn steer - Bruiser, King of the Barnyard. They have also painted umbrellas for the Umbrellas of Harbert (2009, 2011). This year they are honored to be part of the Beached Pirates display creating Demeter the Cornucopia Dolphin.

Each summer, the City of St. Joseph Public Art project fills downtown with unique sculptures from our area’s most creative minds. In 2004 carousel horses galloped into town, harkening back to the carousel at the city’s historic Silver Beach Amusement Park. Since then, previous projects have drawn thousands of visitors to the hospitable Victorian downtown to enjoy the shopping, dining and other attractions that make St. Joseph an unforgettable destination.

GONE FISHIN!
Artist: Kathy Burczak
Sponsor: Abonmarche
Dial 155
Hi my name is Kathy Burczak.
For this year's public art display I chose a Pelican. What do pelicans like to do? Fish of course so the theme is Gone Fishin'. He is perched on top of a wood piling with fishing pole under wing. I used around 20 pounds of clay to create the fishes, crab, creel basket, hat and vest.
This is my 8th time participating in the public art display and have enjoyed seeing all of the creative ideas that the artists come up with. My employer, Abonmarche, has been my sponsor each year and I am extremely appreciative of their generosity. I have been with the company for 19 years as a landscape architect and site planner.
This summer St. Joseph will be invaded by sea turtles, dolphins, pelicans and pirates so come and enjoy the ARRRT.

CAPTAIN ARTEMUS ARRONAX
Artists: James, Kim and Bill Andert
Sponsor: Future Roofing & Construction
Dial 162
James Andert is an illustrator and pastel painter. His love of detail can be seen in all of his work, no matter the medium, lending depth to even the simplest of subjects. While his commissioned works have included whimsical tarot cards, realistic pet portraits and landscapes, much of the work from his own imagination is of a more fantastic nature. His ability to imagine a character with recognizable traits, but manifested outside the constructs of what societal expectations are, gives his work a dreamy, sometimes melancholy or gruesome atmosphere. His work can be viewed at jamesandertart.weebly.com. To contact the artist, email him at dert59@yahoo.com.
His wife, Kim Andert is also an artist, specializing in one-of-a-kind wearable art, from highly embellished gowns to painted shoes. Her style is reflective of my love of vintage clothing, and the couture details and hyper-embellishment much of it features. The majority of her work has a retro look and feel about it, and she uses a lot of reclaimed and antique textiles and trims. She tries to do one large scale, runway project a year, to feed my need for theatricality! She also accepts commissions for custom pieces and doesn't limit herself to genre; she enjoys creating one-of-a-kind pieces for any occasion or category of dress. Visit Kim's website at http://kandertdesign.weebly.com/index.html or her Etsy Shop at http://www.etsy.com/shop/rakijaa
Bill Andert, James' brother, has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of New Orleans in Louisiana. His medium of choice is metal where his welded sculptures incorporate a minimalist and eclectic style that interact with and evolve as the weather employs its daily influence upon it. This style lends itself to reducing the sculpture to its most essential and fundamental features and emotions.
