Budget hotel close to Gare de Lyon.

Posted Oct 7, 2017
Wi-Fi key was not given without asking and could not be bothered going down 5 floors to get it.

The hotel is located directly in front of a Gare de Lyon metro entrance, a post office, small mini mart, casual and fine dining, and ATMs. Just a block away is the main Gare de Lyon station with a huge taxi queue where you could grab a cab in minutes if need be. The location is just incredibly practical. The accommodations are basic and perfectly functional. Small rooms, but that is very much to be expected. They were cozy and comfortable. We had windows looking out into the very loud street and were delighted by how sound proof the room was at night. I will say the check in process was a bit bizarre. It wouldn't be fair to fault the entire experience for the behavior of one person, but the concierge was a real pill. The anti-American sentiment was crystal clear, or the guy just hated his job. Either way, it seemed that hospitality was certainly not his strong suit.

Good rates, close to metro

Posted Aug 23, 2017
Pros: Being so close to the metro was the best part, made getting around the city so easy!
Cons: The showers have no curtains, so water was all over the floor, but that was the only downside
Location: Location is great, close to the metro, and walking distance from museums and city bus tour stops!
This hotel was a good price, and had friendly staff. It is right around the corner from the metro/Gare de Lyon, so it made getting around so easy. They have a room to leave your luggage if you get there before your room is available or for after you check out, so you can still walk around the city without carrying your bags, before getting your train/flight out. I will keep this hotel in mind for my next trip to Paris!

Super convenient location and helpful front desk

Posted Jul 23, 2017 on Hotels
Super convenient. From hall 3 at basement of Gare Lyon, take exit. U will see Novotel. Just turn left and there the hotel is. No need to climb steps with ur luggage. 3 minutes walk. Don't follow google map. And if u need to catch plane, just have to go to gare Lyon and take RER line A to chatelet. One stop only. And on the same platform at Chatelet, without u having to move, u can catch RER line to CDG airport. Super convenient. Hotel room is spacious and decent for paris standards. Clean. Front desk is very helpful. U can ask them for hot water as room has no kettle. I highly recommend this place.
