Our room was in a more recently acquired, separate building, a block away (and across the street) from the hotel's main building (where the front desk and breakfast room are located). So we first went to the main building (the address provided), checked in at the desk, then carried our luggage down the street to the second building and up to the second level. They are currently installing an elevator and a check-in desk, but there were no workers or staff at the second location; you just let yourself in. On one occasion, we found the entrance door propped open, so we removed the prop. When we called the front desk, down the street, no one answered.
Did it ruin our vacation? Of course not! Should we have been told in advance, in the on-line description. Yes. However, it was one of the lowest-priced rooms in a high-priced town, the room was clean, and the included buffet breakfast was fine.
