"Nice hotel with a centralized location. "
Like the hotel, it has a classic look and feel to it yet modern. The bed was very comfortable and the suite was roomy with ample of views (corner room).

"Resort Amenities in the Heart of Berkeley"
I love the Claremont! We have been staying regularly for the past 4 years while visiting our daughter who just graduated from Cal. Now that the remodel is complete, the room decor has been updated and the rooms, though some are small, are comfortable and have everything that you need. My favorite thing about the Claremont is the gym/spa/pool area. As a guest you can use all of the facilities. The gym has plenty of cardio machines, free weights and weight machines. There are spin, yoga and various classes available throughout the day. There is a pool, spa and plenty of comfortable lounge chairs. There are several bar lounge areas and two restraunts on the property. The food is good and the service friendly and professional. Now that our daughter has graduated, I will have to think of a reason to come back!

"Good hotel with great views"
I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. It isn't far from UCBerkeley, but it was nice to be in such a beautiful area. It was away from all the traffic. I would recommend starting here.

"Nice Hotel Offering Easy Access to the Bay Area"
I am a native Berkeleyan who since the death of my parents stays in hotels when visiting family and friends. Normally we stay at the DoubleTree but because their prices were sky high in order to gouge families of graduating UC students we tried La Quinta on the recommendation of one of my sisters. We were not sorry. Our huge recently renovated room on the third floor was filled with light, something you value in foggy Berkeley, and the sounds of nearby school children and passing trains, pleasant sounds. The hotel is easier to reach than the DoubleTree, a hotel located at the end of a very bumpy road. We did miss the cookies at the DoubleTree.

Pocket Guide: Berkeley, Oakland Business Hotels

The city’s radical spirit has endured at least on Telegraph Avenue by the UC Berkeley campus. Upscale shops have moved into the once industrial Fourth Street district. Foodies flock to the Gourmet Ghetto, which began in the 1970s with Chez Panisse. Berkeley Hills’ residents enjoy bay views and access to Tilden Park’s 2,000 acres. Visitors to the marina can stroll on the pier and explore the parks.
