Rezeption war sehr schlecht - Abendbuffet schlechtPosted Sep 29, 2015
Pros: Die Zimmerausstattung

Lovely hotel, lots of activities and great surrounPosted Sep 22, 2015
Pros: Facilities - activities - cleanliness - cosy - picturesque.
Cons: Water in the rooms would have been good - better check out system as we had to queue for some time while the receptionists attended to those who had a
Location: Reading shopping - The Oracle / Nice Chef & Brewer restaurant nearby (although service wasn't fantastic) / bowling at Wokingham Superbowl.
Lovely hotel, the perfect size, cosy and clean. Although we were a little disappointed to find out we were not staying in the mansion house. All but one of the pictures on Expedia's site are of the mansion house or of the surroundings so that's where we were expecting to stay, however at check in we were told we were in the executive suite instead. This however wasn't a problem, just a little disappointing at first. There is lots to do within the park if you are sporty - crazy golf, swimming, golf and lots of activities run by Unique Outdoors. We did the wall climbing and archery which was great fun and would definitely recommend. Fortunately it was a quiet afternoon so we didn't have to take it in turns at the archery and got a lot of shooting in - all round a good stay.

This is a conference venue onlyPosted Sep 20, 2015
Pros: Good venue for a base to shop in Reading.
Cons: The carpet definitely had not been hoovered between guests. Also, I would recommend putting couples in more appropriate rooms.
Location: The Oracle is a great shopping centre!
This is a conference venue and whilst we didn't really mind, we were a bit disappointed to be put in such a small room which was clearly designed for single occupancy (small, one cup etc). We are pretty laid back, so we lived with it, but if you are looking for more of a 'hotel' experience as opposed to corporate boot camp, this probably isn't the hotel for you.

Aimed at conference marketPosted Sep 20, 2015
Pros: Clean and comfortable bed.
Used for one night on route. Cracked sink in bathroom, only towels for one person, no shower toiletries, stale smell in bathroom due to extractor fan not working. Late evening we were informed no hot water, were offered a change of room in a different part of hotel. Self service in the restaurant, limited choice of main course and mediocre quality. Restaurant staff friendly and helpful.

1. No hot water this morning 2. Room service slow (45 mins for a drink) 3 Hotel reception is used for functions so is noisy and chaotic 4. Rooms not effectively cleaned 5. Bedding not changed after 3 nights 6. Service not the best 7. Staff have no local knowledge

Good hotel, terrible staff on receptionPosted Sep 2, 2015
Cons: staff on reception
We checked into the hotel at 2.15pm on 30th August. Our room wasnt ready and we were asked to come back in 30minutes. We went back and they werent sure if our room was ready! We were told to come back in 10/15minutes. We went back at 4pm and the room hadnt been cleaned yet.... We were attending an event which began at 6pm and wanted to get ready. When explaining the situation the staff on reception were not bothered and said we could use another room to get ready. We had paid for the room and expected to have the room. They had plenty of time to clean the room when we arrived and checked in. I asked how long the it took to clean the rooms and they said 24minutes. We complained and we were then given a room. The staff never aplogised or showed any empathy. Other guests were complaining too. The hotel is nice but the staff on reception really need to improve!

We had a great stay as a family. While the décor in parts was a little tired, the hotal was very clean. The children LOVED the Nintendo Lounge. The overall service was really friendly.

DisappointedPosted Aug 11, 2015 on Hotels
Our room was not in the main section of the hotel, but in a lodge. First thing you see when you leave the lodge is overgrown thistles. Room not very ckean, reception area unmanned and not very clean. When we went to check out, the receptionist insisted that we had not prepaid for the room, and charges us for the room. When I found my booking which clearly showed that we had prepaid the payment was cancelled

Understaffed and poor foodPosted Aug 10, 2015 on Hotels
Disappointing stay mainly because the whole place felt tatty and was understaffed. The pool and sauna were also closed on one of the days and we were not informed even though it had been a planned closure. The staff were also untrained on a new computer system and were insisting we (and other guests) hadn't paid - even though we had proof we had. Also there was a limited choice of food for breakfast - the area labelled "fresh fruit" was completely empty, few other options available and there was a long queue for the fried food - which was really not nice.
