BAD HOTEL - Staff rude and incompetent - AVOID!

Posted Feb 17, 2017
Pros: nothing
Cons: the management
Location: it's on a motorway - but I knew that.
After a pleasant arrival, the trip unfortunately went down hill from there.. The first room we had was freezing cold, the heating did not work at all, so we notified the front desk and they seemed to be aware and said they would find another room. Quite why they would put guests in a room where they knew the heating was broken is beyond me. Note: This was a weekend where the temperature barely went above freezing! Upon our return from our day out, we found we hadn't yet been moved, and after much discussion was eventually given keys to another room, with an adjoining door to the rest of our family. Upon entering the room, we opened the door to walk in on a different set of guests, not pleasant for us or them! We were then swapped for the third time, this time next to some guests that had a dog in their room, yapping away all night. it wasn't until the fourth attempt did we get given a room that was adequate, albeit not joined as we requested throughout all 4 moves, we were offered no assistance in moving our things. I approached the manager that evening who seemed disinterested, preoccupied and unable to answer any of my complaints, it is no surprise this hotel is run like fawlty towers with somebody like him in charge. I would formally complain, but quite honestly what's the point. I should have gone with my past experience and stayed at the nearby Donnington, at least they know how to treat their guests!!

Good overnight stay. Beds were really comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. Lounge area was welcoming, warm and cosy which was just what we needed on a frosty day. Good breakfast.

Very good value

Stayed three days while on business in tbe area. Staff very helpful. Good size room. Just be aware you have to pay extra for parking. Although our room one of those along next to motorway , the double glazing meant noise was minimal. Marked room comfort down on my score as there was only one office type chair. Could really do with somewhere decent to sit in the room, especially as the beds are quite high.

Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
Location: NOT NEAR ANYTHING.
Spent several hours following Hilton signs to a hotel location that was demolished several years ago. New location is badly posted and in a bad location not close to anything!!! Room was really basic.
