Always a perfect stay!
The Hilton Doubletree is always my hotel of choice when in this area. The staff are second to none, always polite and helpful - from checking in, to the restaurant, to the bar. The food is hot and tasty. Breakfast is a special treat; always plenty of tasty choices. Love the pool, sauna and jacuzzi, too. Always a pleasant stay. Thank you, Newbury North, for always providing an oasis of calm in my busy life. X

Stay was good. Checkout worst ever. Tried to rip me off with service charges. Signed the restaurant receipt saying no tip (company doesn’t allow it) yet they still included it. Couldn’t check my invoice on departure. Ended up getting a picture from their screen which is when I noticed the charges. They kept telling me my invoice was paid when I knew it wasn’t. Got a nasty email few days later that was full of lies. Contacted them several times to settle account but they were useless. Even explained to Duty Manager and she wasn’t any better. They were going to send me an apology letter but never received anything. Eventually managed to sort payment but be aware of this hotel and how they charge you. I won’t be back. Hilton hotels should be ashamed.

We had a family room with a 12 week old and a 3 year old. We were in a family room on the first floor and had to carry the pushchair up 2 flights of stairs every time we left the room. The bathroom was dirty and it had faeces on the side of the toilet. My wife had to clean this up just before our 3 year old went to use it. It was a shame because it’s a nice hotel, it had a lovely pool area and bar etc.

Loved the customer service at this hotel, they gave our little one a goodie bag with colouring pencils and also some warm cookies for us all. A wonderful surprise! I asked for a glass of milk for our daughter which they brought to our room along with wonderful food we ordered from the restaurant. Easy check in and out and very reasonable. Will be staying again. To receptionists and baristas were super!

Done charge for parking!
Very practical hotel but why charge residents for parking? An invisible sneaky tax! Was told by reception that its a 3rd party - thats your charge not mine, and a cost for you of running a hotel?

Convenient Place to stay
Stopped here on return from Ferry on Saturday night, Hotel was not very busy and all rooms and corridors smelt strongly of paint (there was a notice about this) Room was large and well equipped but lacking atmosphere and the bathroom was a bit industrial Menu looked expensive so visited the Services where there is a M&S Food (plus the world's most expensive petrol) Staff were friendly and competent but beware it costs and extra £8 to park. Did not visit the pool/gym so unaware of any extra charges

Unexpected Charges
Unexpected Charges for parking - £8 per night. No where on Hotels.com does it state there will be a charge for parking. The hotel does not feel like a Hilton Hotel, it is dated and the rooms feel unwelcoming and sparse. The gym was the only reason for booking this wasn't great but did the job. The food was pretty good.

The hotel is in need of a refit. There is a strong smell of mould and damp in the common areas, passage ways and our room which is not healthy.

Really a Hilton?
First room I went to has live electrics exposed and mold on the ceiling. I was moved rooms however the second room, one of the towels had a hole in and there was what I hope was beard hair around the sink. The bed was rock hard and I barely slept due to hearing someone snore through the walls

Good but much needed
Hotel is good location but is very tired and needs some much needed attention from Hilton, Also seemed staffing was an issue as service in all areas was slow and a little lack of CS at times.
