Hotel is close to Royal AscotPosted Nov 2, 2015
Pros: Location is good for Royal Ascot
Cons: Hotel rooms need refurbishment, especially more comfortable beds & pillows. The small double rooms should be single rooms ... they are too small
Double room booked was tiny and could barely move in the bathroom too. Got offered a twin room which was much bigger. However, bed & pillows were not comfortable and did not sleep well. The cooked breakfast was very poor in the morning, the bacon was so overcooked you could not even cut it and the chef was stressed. On a brighter note the pastries etc were very good & the shower was excellent in the room.

Highly recommendPosted Sep 21, 2015
We stayed here for the weekend. It's s very impressive building. Great room with all facilities one could want. The food and service was good and we managed to use the gym and spa on the last day which was very well equipt. I would highly recommend this hotel.

So very noisyPosted Aug 29, 2015
Pros: It looks nice from the outside and there is plenty of parking.
Cons: Staff should take complaints seriously because we won't return again. More cooked breakfast options.
Location: Set in lovely grounds, near Legoland, Windsor and Ascot.
The room itself was nice. We were pleased with it. We were tucked away from the main hub of the hotel, near the rear car park. This didn't worry us, in fact we thought it would be nice and quite. We couldn't have been more mistaken! There was a family who were staying above us and they permitted their children to not only run around the room at 1am, but they kept banging things on their floor, our ceiling, so much, I was convinced they would soon actually come through the ceiling and join us on the bed! We were forced to phone reception, as sleep was impossible, and asked them to go and sort this problem out for us. Amazingly, it did quite down a lot and we were able to get to sleep. However, when you are away for a nice relaxing weekend, you don't expect to be woken up at 7am, by the same children running around every corridor in the hotel, screaming and shouting unsupervised. This was bad enough, but then the cleaners also arrived at 7am and, despite having the 'Do Not Disturb' sign on the door, began knocking on all the doors around us announcing themselves, banging on all the doors around us and whacking the vacuum cleaner into all the skirting in the corridor and on our door! My husband complained to reception, who didn't really seem concerned or offer a move to another room. The restaurant was very expensive, which you don't mind if the food is exquisite, but it was just okay. Breakfast was also just okay and the pool, disappointing!

Too many shortcomings!Posted Aug 18, 2015 on Hotels
Set in a lovely location with a nice spa facility however the rooms are dated, tired and in need of an overhaul. This is certainly not a four star hotel. The rooms don't appear to be maintained very well. We had to request a different room, after the first room was full of dust and cobwebs with a stained and dirty carpet. Service was OK considering not one member of staff was British or had English as their first language. Food - we had both the breakfast and the room service, and both are massively overpriced, especially as the standard of food is average at best. With the various tray charges and service charges, we paid £33 for two sandwiches (one of which was not even what we had ordered)! The spa can get busy, especially late afternoon, where they seem to have 'family times' from 4 to 7. The spa facilities are good however the outdoor pool area is very dirty and obviously hasn't been cleaned for a very long time. The cleanliness of this hotel leaves a lot to be desired.

We liked the area and generally enjoyed our stay but were surprised at the prices on the menu.

Great hotel for Ascot Racing, 2 mile walk. Service was fantastic. I would 100% stay again.
