A great alternative to a hotelPosted Mar 31, 2014
Pros: I liked the space and being able to self-cater, plus parking on-site of course.
Cons: A bath would be great, ditto aircon.
Location: Handy for the town centre and reasonable shopping and places to eat.
I booked to stay for 3 nights as I was in Reading on business. Everything was very well-organised and I received detailed instructions regarding parking, gaining entry etc in advance which worked very smoothly. I dealt with Claudia and she was excellent. The apartment itself was very large and well-appointed. Clean, tidy and convenient. The only negatives for me were the lack of a bath, even though the bathroom is very large, and the free wi-fit was a bit unreliable. That said, there was a number to contact in the event of problems which I didn't use as I was not there for much of my stay.

A Nice Little OasisPosted Sep 20, 2013
Pros: I liked it that it was spacious, clean, well lit, secure, and had its own kitchen, which meant I didn't have to eat out every night.
Cons: The washer/dryer is pretty frustrating. It took several hours to do one load. The dryer doesn't actually get the clothes dry; it sort of steams them.
Location: It's a short walk to the MERL and there's a Tesco around the corner.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Faculty Apartments. They are not fancy, but there's a lot of space (especially if you're only one person), the furniture is fairly new, you feel reasonably secure (I'd have felt more secure on the second floor, but there we are), and in general it's a nice little home away from home. They're set up for self-check in, which is slightly unnerving in that you feel like if something goes wrong it could be a while before anyone shows up to let you in, but in my case it all worked out fine. They are right next to a pub, so at night it can be noisy outside; but I never heard any noise coming through from the other apartments.
