Awesome staff

The hotel is awesome. The staff is incredibly friendly and the masseuse is very good and professional. I was incredibly sick when I got there and when I left so I didn't actually leave my room except for the massage, but the entire staff took great care of me. From the bartender who helped me pick out dinner at Juniper to the awesome front desk guy who welcomed me and got me my room key quickly, I couldn't be happier. BTW, upgrade to the junior suite,,,,sooo worth it with the huge tub, shower and round windows.

Solid hotel in good location

I had a three night stay at the Axel Hotel and would recommend it to others. It has a great location - both nearby gay nightlife and just a block away from a metro station with multiple lines that can get you most anywhere in Berlin fairly quickly. The staff wasn't the friendliest I've experienced, but were super responsive about an erroneous charge on my credit card and fixed it immediately.

No sauna / spa facilities open despite being adver

Arrived to spend 3 nights here, went to go to the spa and sauna and it was locked! Spoke to the Receptionist who advised it was closed, he tried stating we were advised of this. This was not the case!

Great hotel near the gay village

I stayed for 6 nights in the Junior Suite over New Years. Very comfortable and clean suite, and location was so close to shopping and night life and the Christmas market. Unfortunately the wellness centre was under renovation so I will try to access the centre in my return stay at this hotel hopefully this upcoming summer.

Great staff, great location, poor bathroom design

My initial room was terrible with a bed that was pushed up against the wall, which is completely unacceptable for a hotel room. Plus there was no place to open my suitcase comfortably. I upgraded to a better room by paying a higher rate. At first glance the room was terrific, especially in terms of style. Still no place to open my suitcase. In addition, the layout of the bathroom was such that once you take a shower, you can no longer walk into the bathroom with bare feet or with socks because the floor is completely wet from the shower (including the area of the toilet). This is terrible design. However, staff was terrific. And overall hotel design was also very good. Too bad the spa was undergoing renovations - that might have improved my experience at the hotel.
