ABOLUTELY DISGUSTING / UNHYGENIC FOR HUMANS
Worst experience I have ever had in a hotel, and the fact you charged me 700£ pre covid for this is disgusting. I used half my credit and i still have half left. Absolutely awful service. Bed bugs crawling actively on the bed! A window above the bed DID not even close never mind lock. Safe broken! Shower you couldn’t use due to the way it was angled, didn’t spray down but straight up the wall?! The smell of fish & bin bags, and the carpets showed stains from binbags being dragged through the corridor. I wouldn’t even allow a dog to stay here! I will be reporting this to health and trading standards! How you even advertise this hotel!!! And not refund money is appauling! The fact you STILL hold my money due to cancelling from covid is an absolute liberty!! I HAD TO PAY AN ADDITION 300£ to stay else where in berlin!!!! As it was not hygenic enough for a human to stay in!!!

Bed hard as a rock. Only internet by the front desk. The lady in the mornings was nice but others often rude. The room was clean and the cleaning lady was cool.Moral of the story. You get what you pay for.

There was no internet through my entire stay. No alternative was offered nor an attempt to fix the net. Unacceptable as this place was advertised with internet so it was included in the price. Also, I was given the smallest attic room possible. The soup holder was unusable. TV service in English was payed. Just way under par for the money due to poor management !!!

Clean room, very convenient location in the middle of the Kurfurstendamm, great breakfast... But the downside was that the guest Wifi service was "broken" for my entire stay. When I asked the staff about this, all they could tell me was that it was not working, with no further explanation. That part of my stay was very disappointing.

Very Basic
The rooms are really dated and didn’t have a shower. There was a corridor alongside my room and when people walked past at night it felt as though they were in your room! Paper thin walls. Curtains didn’t draw properly. If they just modernised the rooms and reception/breakfast area it would be ok. No tea/coffee facility in the room which I hate.

Old building, unfriendly reception staff, noisy in the room as i can hear anyone moving outside, the 5th floor is like a mystery as the elevator is going only until 4th floor. To reach my room was like a discovery!!

A so so Hotel in a phenomenal location
It was just an okay stay. A great location but literally that’s it. The rooms are just okay & the hotel pics are misleading. The staff is friendly but just not happy with hotel & WiFi was spotty. The location is incredible, nothing but amazing high end stores near it. The hotel itself though, leaves a lot to be desired.

Although the hotel is dated it has several positive points, the location is great, 109 bus from Tegel Airport stops just outside the hotel, 2 minutes to the tube station and bus stop close by which takes you to Zoo bus centre where you can get buses to centre. Rooms are huge, plenty of space, breakfast good, typical continental and the staff are very friendly if you bother to talk to them. All in all, great 4 days....

Two nights at the City.
I enjoyed my stay. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was efficient. The included breakfast was excellent. The hotel enjoys an excellent location,on Berlin's Kurfurstendamm,in the heart of the city's West End. It's close to bars,restaurants,shops and the Underground,the Adenauerplatz station being a couple of minutes walk away.

I booked the listed room that is not pictured that is on the 5th floor that stated the room was small. The description was right that the chosen room was a little small for tall people but it was that was mentioned beforehand. Staff very nice, room clean and no problems. Note Hotel has elevator that only goes up to 4th floor

Too bad it was rathr noisy and why did an electric pump go on every time you even opened the faucet to brush your teeth ... it has seen better days but it is not up to the standard anymore ..,yet centrally located and ok if you went on business... not good for a romantic escape ....

Everything about City Hotel is "not quite". Shower + bed OK but no shower gel just crappy soap dispenser. Heating off when I checked in. Decor out of 70s. Breakfast mediocre. No tea/coffee facilities in room.

Dirty staircase, outdated, Wi-Fi was not working. TV remote was missing so the tv was not functional. The room I was in look absolutely nothing like any of the room that was pictured on the internet. I would not stay here again.

Friendly family hotel
We were three people in two rooms. One room looked out on Ku'damm and had a wonderful high ceiling. It was large enough and adequately furnished for a get together after each day's exertions. The other (single) room was smaller and quiet.The breakfast buffet was good, and the staff were quick to replace items as they were consumed.

Nice hotel, fine for a quick stay. The bus station is right in front of the hotel and Adenauerplatz. It makes very convenient to get to the Berlin Zoo, the big train station Berlin Tiergarten, to Kurfürstendamm. Quite too, I slept like a baby. The room was clean, staff friendly, breakfast fine, cheap but NOT FREE as the description said. Happy over all with accommodations.

Positive: this hotel located in a nice place in kudam street, so close to public transformation and really nice neighbourhood. Negative: dont trust uploaded photo on the booking websites! Hotel entrance shared with an apartment, very small lobby, old lift, no TV, no Internet at room (on 5th floor), very noisy room (I can hear my neighbour voice), dirty bath room, during my 3 night stay.

Arrived just as the sun was setting and Berlins Christmas lights began to shine. The hotel is located on a beautiful street close to everything. The Christmas markets are a walk away. I think it was about €7 in a Taxi from the Zoo train station to the hotel (although it's not a bad walk if you don't have too much luggage). The hotel itself is old. The elevator looks like one of the first invented but it works well. The staff were accommodating and helpful. They helped to pick sights and places for us to see while in Berlin. Breakfast was a great selection. Rooms were comfortable and tidy. Would stay here again.

The city hotel is in poor condition. There are 5 floors and the lift only goes to floor 4. The room and bathroom were in average condition but small. There was no free wifi the television didn't work. The photos of the room on the website are not what I experinced.The cost for 3 nights was over £500 and no compensation for non working television

Better than I thought it would be
Staff was VERY friendly (very limited English, but they do well regardless) and did their best to make sure that I was taken care of. When I had to leave early in the morning and was checking out, the front desk lady as well as another lady who I suspected was the manager really wanted me to experience the breakfast. I was in a hurry and to get to the airport. They offered to box up my breakfast so I could take it to go. Felt bad for declining the offer, but it was very nice for them to offer that. My room was very clean and had everything that I could possibly need for my stay. There is a very small safe in the room and it won't hold much more than a few cell phones. My Mini iPad would not fit in it. Only issue to report is that whenever I flushed the toilet or took a shower, there was a very loud noise from the plumbing. The noise lasted about 5 seconds and continued every 20 seconds. Not a huge deal for me, but I can only imagine what the other occupants on my floor were thinking at 6 AM. In conclusion, I liked the neighborhood, the staff was very friendly and helpful, room and bed was comfortable, and while it's not a 4 or 5 star hotel, I would highly recommend it if you need a place to Stay in Berlin that is safe, accommodating, and friendly.
