I called multiple times to confirm we could get adjoining double rooms. When we showed up, they didn’t have our rooms available. The pool was broken the whole time. The “restaurant” had one waitress who sat on her phone while tons of people waited. The very expensive breakfast buffet was not even as nice as a free breakfast at a Holiday Inn. The front desk staff all seemed new and not to know what was going on. And the rooms hadn’t been vacuumed. There were stickers and decorations stuck on the wall from the last stay too. This hotel was gross. Online it looked nice. It’s not. Pick somewhere away from the airport.

If a traveler is one who can appreciate wonderful history of a given area within any town, who marvels at the architecture of the early 1900's, who respects the work to refurbish and maintain a nearly 100 year old home, is charmed by the landscape and relishes calm, civility and old luxury........this is the place to stay. Sans a few quirks, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and felt transported back to the roaring '20's. The only think they we would have liked to have enjoyed, was a breakfast vs a continental menu. We met one of the owners and he was gracious with his time and key historical notes regarding the house and previous owners.

The house was very clean, comfortable, and nicely maintained, which we really appreciated during our stay. However, there were two downsides to be aware of. First, after booking, the owner asked us to pay an extra money for cleaning fee, even though it was not clearly listed in the Expedia booking details. I chose not to argue since I didn’t want to ruin our family trip, but future guests should expect additional charges. Second, privacy was an issue the owner lives in the basement, and it felt uncomfortable at times, especially with my child playing and moving around. Overall, it’s a nice property, but keep in mind the extra costs and limited privacy.

The hotel was beautiful and comfortable. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food and drinks were well prepared and delicious. We enjoyed the atmosphere at the bar and restaurant and spent a good part of the night there with guests. It is hard to find a comfortable hotel bed but ours was very comfortable. I will definitely be staying again.
