Great little in town Cabin.Posted Sep 21, 2015
Pros: I loved that it was in town. Not really in the center of town. But, you could pretty much walk to the center of town.
Cons: The shower was pretty tight for a 6 ft 195 lb man. But, that's pretty much all I could think of as a negative.
Location: Location was great. (as mentioned earlier) Parking was fantastic.
First off, let me state the pictures do not do this place justice. Especially for the price I was expecting something kind of, not pristine. But, this was a pleasant surprise. This was a last minute trip and the price was certainly less than expected. The front desk clerk (Allison?) was extremely friendly and welcomed us warmly. The private hot tub in our own little side yard was excellent! We actually said we wished we would have stayed 2 nights to really take advantage of everything the room offered. We are certainly coming back and bringing friends.

Noise and showerPosted Sep 3, 2015
Noise due to too close to big bear Main Street. Shower head unable to control or turn and only running super hot water!

Experience not so goodPosted Aug 16, 2015
The outside of the so called resort looks good. The pool heater was broken the play area was closed the toilet did not work. The staff was very nice but one. She was lazy. very unhappy. Would not return.

Decent Stay for FamilyPosted Aug 7, 2015
Location: - Boulder Bay Park - Castle Rock hike - Jet Ski at Designated Sports - Shop at the Village (fun shops!) - Kayak
We were disappointed to find out that many things that were advertised were not there. But they just got new management who is trying to fix all this, and they gave us a $50 token for a 2 night stay to make up for it. If you're looking for an inexpensive place to stay for a big family and want to spend more money on your activities, this is a decent place. GOOD: - Close proximity to things in Big Bear (but if you're looking for a forest-like experience, this is not the place to go. It is right next to the 18 fwy). - The maid service seemed to get the memo that we had 6 people in the room and gave us plenty of towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap, and coffee. - Blanket and pillows are comfortable. Mattress is medium. - The decor is not as bad as most places in Big Bear - Clean BAD - No volleyball court as advertised - Playground was locked up in a gate and "not open" even though we were there at the beginning of August (peak summer time) - Pool was dirty (lots of bugs and dirt) and ICY cold even though it was 80 degrees outside. There was also a woman teaching kids swimming lessons and took up room in the small pool. - Even though we had a room for 6 people, there were only 3 forks and a small saucepan that could fit 2 cans of soup. - Small pedestal sink with no cupboard or shelf. So you have to stick your toiletries on the ground and squat up and down as you get ready to sleep - No breakfast except Sat and Sun. Not as advertised.

Lovely cabins in the mountainsPosted Jul 23, 2015
Pros: The cabins had a rustic feel whilst being totally comfortable. Ours had a log fire in the corner (we didn't use it, as it was mid-summer).
Location: Bear Creek is within walking distance of The Village, a minute in the car. There's a store, restaurant and bar right next door to the resort too.
We stayed in a cabin for one night in July. The cabin was comfortable, cute and clean, and we thoroughly enjoyed our short stay. We had room 15 which is a self-contained studio cabin near the office. This cabin has its own outdoor hot-tub in a small enclosed yard in front of the cabin, which is fenced in so you are not over-looked whilst enjoying the hot-tub.

Clean, comfortable, cozy rooms in the woodsPosted Jul 19, 2015
Close to the bars and restaurants (Chads Place/Murreys) but you have to drive. Not really a close walk. Clean rooms that are more like cottages. All essential kitchen items so you can bring your own food and hook yourself up. Warning to all woman... There was only one mirror in our room (#7) and it was tiny. Very very tiny. Not good for applying makeup or plucking or whatever else we all need bathroom mirrors for. I walked to the lobby to use their bathroom get my face on and do my hair. Other than the ultra tiny mirror this place is rad.

It was okPosted Jul 13, 2015
Pros: Fire place and comfortable bed.
Cons: Clean the pool and fix the hot tub.
Location: Many things to do, everything is close by.
The pool was dirty, could not swim in it. The hot tub was not working and dirty water was not cleaned out. We were not told about this when we booked. Had it been hotter weather we would have complained more.

Great escape!Posted May 25, 2015 on Hotels
Had a great time. Not too cold and not too warm. Not many visitors at all. The place was very nice. Had to switch rooms due to cable TV malfunctioning, but everything else was fine. Will visit again next year.

Short stay.Posted May 8, 2015 on Hotels
We chose this older motel as it was dog friendly and close to where we were attending a function. For our one night stay, this motel met our needs.
