Courteous ServicePosted Mar 4, 2013
Very courteous staff, generous complementary activity offerings, great floor plan of the room offers privacy, beautifully nestled in mountains. Slightly dated interior.

Very nice, but need an elevator!!!!Posted Nov 2, 2012
Pros: SPACIOUS, clean, love the fireplaces, very clean.
Cons: No elevator!!!!!!!!!!!!
Location: Snow Lake Lodge, Big Bear Lake, CA
They need an elevator at Snow Lake Lodge. I had to drag luggage and groceries up to the 3rd floor. Not good. The lodge itself is very nice on the interior..... I WOULD NOT STAY THERE AGAIN DUE TO THE NO ELEVATOR SITUATION. Sorry

"Feelings of home"Posted Aug 2, 2011
First impression when walked in the room was wow this is nicer then expected. (we made reservations just 24 hrs prior to arriving) Thinking the worst we were very impressed with everything from the nice ladies that helped at the front desk to house keeping and the room was very clean and welcoming. It has everything that you need, all that you need is your personal belongings and food. The room is splint into two rooms, when you walk in the door to the right is the master bedroom with a king size bed, t.v., d.v.d or v.h.s player, fireplace, and a full bathroom. The door to the left is the living room and a fully stocked kitchen, fireplace, and another full bathroom yes two bathrooms in one hotel room wow. The day we checked out my kids & husband could not stop talking about how nice the room was and that it felt like home.

Perfect choice!Posted Feb 3, 2011
This was truly a blind guess! We had never been to the resort before, and had so many choices, we really didn't know which to pick. We had a 2 and 4 year old with us, and the lodge was PERFECT! Right on the main drag, near many restaurants, and only 5-6 minutes from both snow-tubing locations (the main reason we came)! 2 rooms with a closed off foyer for boots et al, 2 gas fireplaces and 2 full baths, plus a completely equipped kitchen! Really, exactly what we needed for out stay. Would definitely stay there again.

Pleasantly surprised!Posted Feb 3, 2011
In making "last-minute" arrangements, my expectations were low. I was pleasantly surprised with the hotel and our room. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean spacious with a common area and kitchen with a T.V. and a fireplace and a master bedroom with it's own bathroom, fireplace and T.V. The decor was a little dated but for the price, I really can't complain. The only down-side was the location of our room. It was the first room at the top of the stairs of the second floor. So, we did hear the noise of people coming and going. If I have the opportunity to stay again, I may ask for a room further down the hallway.

SNOW LAKE LODGE - DELIVERS AN AMAZING VACATION STAYPosted Feb 1, 2011
OMG!! The photos (online) of the Room and location did not do justice! The rooms are MASSIVE!! The decor is very lodge/cabin. You could live there - very comfortably - for a month!! Our room had two (2) large bathrooms, full kitchen, TWO heaters, and all the ammenities necessary to accomodate a group twice the size of ours!! Amazing!! The personnel running the Main Office treated us like family! We felt welcomed and our business, appreciated. The Snow Lake Lodge UNDER promised and OVER delivered! I wish we could have stayed longer. We will come and stay again, most assured!!

Surprisingly impressedPosted Jan 19, 2011
We booked the lodge at the last minute not knowing much about it, other than it was inexpensive and in the middle of Big Bear, right off the main road (not hidden in some back road). Although we only booked one night (we have a 2 year old and just wanted to see snow), we wish we could have stayed longer. It was like staying in a condo, with a fully stocked kitchen, 2 fireplaces, 2 bathrooms, and one bedroom. The place was extremely clean and very inviting when we walked in. The flat screen TV with a DVD player was a really nice surprise, along with the large bedroom with the fireplace. We will definitely try to stay here again next time!

Convenient and comfortablePosted Sep 8, 2010
We were pleased with the accommodations. It wasn't on the water although you could walk to it in 10-15 minutes, or drive in 3 as with the village. But the location was good, close to all. We also appreciated having two bathrooms and it looked like there had been fairly recent upgrades. However, if you go in the summer be aware that there is no a/c. We didn't really need it as it wasn't that hot when we were there and kept the windows open. Staff was very friendly and helpful

Spacious roomPosted Jun 29, 2010
Hotel room was very spacious and clean. The kitchen was fully stocked and nice to have because we had to be out each morning by 6:30 am. The front desk had lots of DVDs and games to borrow which was nice for the kids. On the down side, Big Bear Blvd is very noisy especially at night when you are trying to sleep. Also, the villiage area and lake is not really within walking distance. The front desk staff said both were within walking distance, but 1-3 miles one way with small children and a busy highway is not a nice walk .Overall though, for the price of this room and the extra space, we were more than satisfied.

Maybe a better place in the winterPosted Jun 26, 2010
We did arrive early to see if our room was ready by chance- it was the off season and all hotels were showing vacancies. We were told RUDELY that our room would NOT be ready til 4pm and we were "WAY TOO EARLY". Could have been handled more politely for sure. We returned hours later and were treated professionally by same person. Unit was very nice. We were surprised there was no A/C which I am sure is not an issue during the winter, but were were there summertime and it was HOT. Our room was uncomfortable most of the afternoon/evening until things really cooled off. The units are OLD-- windows are crank to open. Pool is SMALL and in a boxed in area where it is impossible to get any sun. Hot Tub might fit 1.5 people in it. There is NO VIEW of the lake. There are no personnel after 7pm during the week if you have questions or problems...the lobby shuts down. (Fri/Sat was 9pm) Internet access means there is one ancient desktop in the community room for all to share. We didn't check in til 5pm so by the time we figured this out, the lobby was closed. Good location, close to restaurants, shopping, etc. but Big Bear is not that large anyway. Might be a great place to stay during the winter but we just stayed one night as a stop in our summer road trip and I would not return.
