Great place to stay

Posted Aug 19, 2017
Pros: The continental breakfast was fresh and had a lot of choices. The charm, cleanliness and comfort was consistent throughout the lodge.
Cons: Defrost the refrigerator and get larger tvs.
Location: Not where I thought it would be. Lots of dining choices within walking distance.
Our check in was quick and easy. The staff was helpful in directing us towards finding some place to grab dinner. The room was clean, large and comfortable. They offer a wonderful continental breakfast with a variety of choices.

Never Again - Beware of hidden fees!!!

Posted Aug 9, 2017
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Invest in simple maintenance. Repair doors and sheet rock. Be upfront about added fees.
Location: Too long of a drive from Yellowstone. Find a closer town. This is not 30 minutes away, its more like an hour away.
The hotel appears nice from the outside. I believe this is because the city requires it to have a certain "Lodge" look, as the other businesses in town do as well. There is an extremely loud bar across the street which you will hear in your room until 2a.m. People going to and from the bar frequently walk through the parking lot which is poorly lit. We caught the odor of marijuana more than once as these people walked through. The rooms are very dated and run down. There was mold on the ceiling above the shower. The floor of the bath tub was sticky. The door to our room didn't lock very well and we often had a hard time with the key. (Yes I said key as in physical key). The rooms lack sound barriers and you can hear your neighbor using the bathroom which is kind of gross. The breakfast consisted of some fruit and pastries that could easily double as hockey pucks. If Yellowstone is the reason for your visit, it will take you a good hour to travel there from the hotel. Even though we pre-paid through Expedia, we were charged an additional fee by River Rock Lodge which we were unaware of until we returned home. I called and asked for a copy of the receipt for the charge and was hung up on by management. I was told that I needed to contact Expedia, which I was confused by since it was River Rock Lodge that charged the fee not Expedia. I never signed for the fee nor did I authorize it. I am allowing the credit card company to handle it.

Excellent facility - great location

Posted Aug 7, 2017
The hotel is beautiful, and located right in the middle of a recently renovated area. Walking distance to excellent dining and sopping, and a short drive to the top of the mounting for breathtaking views of the valley and the ski lodges. Beds were comfortable and room was large. Breakfast was included and had ample choices. The only "hiccup" was a $9.99 charge by the hotel, after having paid Expedia in full. I am still trying to figure out what that is (they called it a processing fee.)

Very comfortable and pleasant lodging

Posted Aug 5, 2017
Pros: Clean, new, spacious.
Our reason for coming to the area was to visit Yellowstone. It's 48 miles from the west entrance, so not exactly ideal, but it's. quite lovely drive and we didn't find it onerous. We really enjoyed that there were several good eating places within walking distance.

Good family ski hotel

Posted Jul 28, 2017
Pros: Walking distance to good resteraunts, farmers market on wednesdays are wonderful right next to the hotel, easy parking and easy access to rooms.
Cons: Protein with breakfast, (at least hard boiled eggs and maybe some whole fruit?) better internet, more attention to detail by maintainence staff.
Location: Skiing of course in the winter, all manner of outdoor summer activities, rafting, fishing, hiking, mountain biking etc
This hotel is very adequate and priced fairly well. Pretty lobby and very accommodating staff. Rooms are large for more than average luggage. Internet was slow, but free. Check in time is late and check out is early. They will try to accommodate however. Minor problems, sink loose in the bathroom, plastic shower surrounds rather than tile or granite, refridge freezer was so iced up the door wouldn't close, curtains hanging off their hooks, air conditioner was set too hot. Never cooled the room down enough, parking lot on one side and a busy street on the other. It is however walking distance from restaurants, shopping and other businesses. Parking was easy and free. Just carbs for breakfast.

Really great resort, quiet

Really great resort. Cleaning staff did not take garbage or replenish toilet paper, which was odd. Close to Big Sky, far from Yellowstone. Restaurants close early. Staff were amazing!!!
