A Nice Lodge

Posted Sep 29, 2017
Pros: Room, front desk, warm lobby
Cons: The early riser (4AM) tourists should be booked on the first floor near the lobby. Hallways, like most lodges, are noisy. The floors are wood.
Location: Plenty to do in Big Sky. We hiked, rafted, and ziplined. Decent ski resort.
Pam was great--friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Cont. breakfast was good. Room was a nice treat--spacious and comfy. We did not use the hot tub.

Nice hotel close to everything

Posted Sep 28, 2017
We had a nice stay at River Rock. Breakfast was good, check in easy and we exactly what I thought we would. Only negative was the shower . Needs a new one or a really good scrubbing and shower head. Outdoor Jacuzzi was a nice touch.

Disappointed

Posted Sep 19, 2017
Pros: Large room
Cons: New door knobs would help
Stayed on the 1st floor and did not get much sleep. The ones above us were up and walking all night. Had to fight to get the door open. Lady at front desk told us to put the key in and pull door toward us until it worked. After paying a substantial amount you would at least think you could get the door open. After going out to eat dinner, we came back and it took us 5 minutes to be able to get into our room. View was a broken down camper out of our window. After traveling for 14 days, I can say this was the most expensive room and 2nd to the worst we stayed in.

The misleading first impression

Posted Sep 9, 2017
Pros: Atmosphere and yes, the first impression
Cons: Cleaning service and food.
Location: There is only one way leading out of the city - take it into account in planning your travel. There can occur some accident and then a huuuge traffic.
The first impression, as mentioned, was really good - everything clean (a blessing after previous motels) and this specific atmosfere. The time, however, brought only disappointment. In the mid of the night, some people in the room above ours were stomping loudly for about more than hour what sounded as if the walls and cellar were made of paper that was not any barrier for the noise. The next day our room got cleaned up, however the word 'cleaned' is not telling the truth. Beds were made untidily and the blanket remained untouched, twisted as I left it. The biggest fail was a breakfast - gluten, gluten and once more gluten, in every possible form (rolls, sweet rolls, muffins, cereals). Not every one can eat gluten food and in the times of glutenophobia such breakfast is an own goal. Moreover, what was mentioned by other reviewers, there was almost no internet, unlike it was ensured during the reservation process.

We appreciate your feedback. I am sorry you did not enjoy the fresh cut melons, grapes, apples and yogurt as well as gluten free cereal we offer with our breakfast. We do try to provide things for gluten free guests. Sincerely, Pam

Thank you for your feedback. We do love having the Aspen trees around the hot tub but they do drop leaves every day. All the best to you, Pam

Summer at Big Sky

Posted Aug 24, 2017
Pros: The staff!!!
Cons: Families who do not control noisy children during sleeping hours.
Location: Nine loved the Big Sky Lone Peak Adventure, Canyon Adventure horseback riding and trout fishing! Fav food = Buck's T4, BUTTR, Compass and Ousel's.
In spite of our large tribe of 9, we were always welcome. This was likely the friendliest staff I have encountered in decades of travel. The location was perfect to explore Big Sky's adventures, good food and beautiful setting. So many choices, so little time!!!

A welcoming oasis in the mountains.

Posted Aug 23, 2017
We drove in late and were welcomed with a smile and an extremely comfortable room. It was like a home away from home. My family is already asking when can we go back!
