Not what I was expecting... :-/

On my itinerary, I had reserved a King bed; but the room I was placed in consisted of a double: That was disappointing. Even though it was a non-smoking room, the smell of the building and room was stale and the smoke smell was horrendous: I'm allergic to smoke. The AC and the refrigerator was slow on keeping cool. The carpet appeared dirty for there were things lying on the floor like hair ties and paper; the towels and bedsheets were stained: which made me question of how clean the room was. The plus side to the room was the view: of the bayou and the busy highway/city lights. With that, I don't plan on staying again unless renovations and better care is provided to the rooms. Also, the staff could use some work too: not friendly...(I was expecting more friendliness from my visit, especially since MS is known for their hospitality).
