The hotel is so close to the station and makes it so simple to travel where you need to, the staff were friendly and helpful and the reception atmosphere pleasant. The room however was disappointing. Although it did have a large, well functioning TV which was lovely, the room was dark and dingey even with curtains and windows open, as there was no main light only lamps. The room was clean (from what I could see) but there were stray hairs all round the bathroom which could have been easily removed. The bed wasn’t the comfiest, either the bed itself or the mattress was broken as it slanted down on one side, making it a discomfort for the person on that side. The carpet was dark (which didn’t help the room) and had rips and holes and marks all over it. It was ok enough to stay for a night or two. Cheap enough and literally opposite the station.

Comfort Inn Birmingham

Posted Nov 9, 2017
Pros: Proximity to the train station, the Bullring and O2 Academy.
Cons: Could be a bit cleaner.
Location: Chinatown is just a couple blocks away and there are a lot of dining options. The O2 Academy is close-by, if you're checking a concert.
The hotel was just by the train station and we were in Birmingham for only one night, so it served our purposes just fine. Not the cleanest room and the hallways are a little dank. The fan in the bathroom made an odd whining sound. We told hotel management about it, so hopefully they address that issue. Check in and check out (key drop) were pretty quick, but the concierge was oddly hung up on whether we wanted the hotel breakfast - mentioning it several times in 10 minutes. Fine for a short stay in Birmingham, but manage your expectations.

Central economical hotel

Posted Nov 3, 2017
The hotel is very central, next to main station, near Bullring, markets, art gallery and not far from canal walks. Almost next door to oldest cinema in UK and Chinatown. Basic facilities at cheap rates. Recommended for those who prefer economy to luxury. Comfortable bed and decent breakfast.

Cheap hotel and you get whatever you pay for

Excellent hotel in the very heart of Birmingham no car park but plenty of ncp about and they do a deal for 6.50 24 hour parking. Room was lovely and clean and quiet. Don't expect wonderfully views from the windows (they are best kept closed to be honest). All in all excellent hotel , very central and clean and quiet.

Pleasant short stay, room was comfortable, peaceful. Breakfast was amazing, but could not stay due to early meeting in Solihull. Reception staff extremely helpful with organising a taxi to get to meeting on time.

Hotel handy to station but needs updating.

Posted Oct 2, 2017
Stayed in a single room on the top floor (407). This room requires modernising. There was no bed side light and the bathroom has an automatic light that comes on when anyone walks along the corridor. The bed was comfortable but a bit wobbly. Large bathroom but doesn't need to be that big- could use more room in the bedroom and less in the bathroom. Friendly staff. Can't comment on breakfast as didn't have it!

Just a step away from new st station

100 yrds from the station , easy walk via the lifts there is a bar downstairs and restaurants within easy reach, the hotel has a lift and 24 hour reception, the bed was hard as a rock but I only stopped for 1 night, the Balti triangle is only a $5 ride away with uber, the room was quite spacious and clean. It is noisy in the morning/afternoon rush hour but that was expected as your right opposite the station.i would definitely stay there again if I was just visiting for a few days

We arrived to find the toilet lid was not attached to the toilet. Upon lifting the seat we found it was covered in urine underneath. The lights on one side of the room were not working and the old school lift did not feel safe. The room itself did not feel very clean. I definitely will pay more to stay somewhere else next time. The whole place was just a disappointment
