Stay Away, Stay Very Far Away!

Posted Dec 28, 2016
Pros: Not one thing..
Tub plug wasn't working, couldn't take a complete shower. I brought this to the attention of the owner who primarily told me he "didn't need my sh--! He only gets 50 percent thru Expedia for that room..and I couldn't possibly have as much money as he! Sheer craziness! Bad area, with a distinct smell of drugs in the air. Stay away unless you are looking for a flop house..

I'd stay again

Not bad. A little dated but clean. With the price I was surprised breakfast was included. Breakfast included a variety of things to choose from too. Close to the interstate. No trouble checking in or out. Staff was professional and pleasant.

Very Nice Hotel for the money.

Posted Nov 27, 2016
I was very pleased with Days Inn of Birmingham,Al. The hotel staff was outstanding. I was treated very warmly upon arrival by the front desk attendant and all my information was set. The morning front des attendant was so cheerful and friendly. My son is a wrestler and was competing that morning and could not have breakfast so we had to take a waffle and banana from the very nice breakfast area. The attendant there helped him to prepare a nutritional on the go meal for after his weigh in and that really spoke to the character of this hotel to me and I will return to this hotel for anybor every match that is in the Birmingham area.

Hate to be critical, but the drain in the tub could not be opened and we could not get the coffeemaker to work. Motel was conveniently located right at the exit on I65 which made for easy access.

Cons: Working outlets in room. Parking for hotel guest and lighting in parking lot.
Location: close to interstate and multiple places nearby to eat or shop.
The hotel was ok, but not worth price paid. Hotel lighting is not good for nightly entering. No parking at for hotel guest due to club in front of hotel. Could not charge phone or other devices because outlets did not work. (Working outlet in bathroom)

Poor Choice

Posted Nov 2, 2016
We arrived on Friday afternoon October 21, 2016. I noticed when we drove in that this place's condition did not meet the standards of the surrounding community (Vestavia Hills) at all. The lobby wasn't clean, ceiling tiles were nadty and several were in disarray. After we checked in we drove around to our building and I noticed a couple of dirty mattresses leaning against the fence. We walked in and saw that hallway had not been vacuumed in some time. We went to the elevator which had horrible cracked up flooring and the door made a loud grinding sound when it opened and closed. As we exited the elevator I saw yhat the 4th floor hallway was worse than the main hallway. We entered our room and saw that the plumbing access door next to one of the beds was leaning against the wall and there was a long stretch of the corner that was left unpainted for some time right next to it. The bathroom was fair yet the tub soap dish had not been cleaned in months if not longer. Later when we left to go to dinner I looked down through the window at the pool and noticed it was greenish ( Not aqua; GREEN!). Overall it looked as though the owners and management do not invest any money or time into this place. I would personally not recommend this hotel to anyone. Also the Days Inn parent company should pull the franchise tag from this place and Expedia shouldn't even list it.
