Facilities were ok. Clean. There were multiple events in Birmingham. Facility was full which led to some delays in checking in. The staff was great, helpful and courteous.

The young lady that checked us in was great. When I asked for a luggage carrier I was told I could get one on the 4th floor, not let me get you one. As we were checking out, my wife asked if there was another restroom that she could use,the woman with the tattoo on her neck didn't look up and just said no. I don't see how you command the rates that you do. It's not a 3 star hotel, but more like a 2 star. I won't be staying in a Hampton inn again.

The bathroom faucet pipe leaked profusely when in use. Dispensers for shampoo and shower gel empty on shower wall. Handle to shower door broken. Was it vacuumed?

The location was great and the overall appearance was great. My only issue was after walking around in my black socks, there was an abundance of pet hair on the bottom of my socks. It appears the carpet had not been vacuumed thoroughly. There were food crumbs on the floor that were not mine. The desk chair had pet hair and crumbs on it as well. I would suggest getting a hand-held vacuum and possibly a more UPDATED carpet vacuum.

No door
No door on the bathroom and asked for another room and was told we couldn’t move. Spent 140.00 for a room and my wife and daughter were miserable because they couldn’t have any privacy. If it wasn’t so late ⏰ n the night we would’ve left but no power forced us to stay.

This location isn’t clean. To be where it’s located you would think they would take better care of the hotel and give a good clean daily. The hall ways, the dusty bathrooms and nasty showers. I’m glad I only stayed 1 night. Most of the lights in the elevators was off. A lot of kids running down the hallway. The lobby was packed and extremely loud at 10pm/11pm and also the following morning. This was such an unpleasant experience.

There were sports teams in town so teens were loud and running the halls. The staff was extremely helpful and kind.

What the heck you guys?
No rooms available with 9 guests waiting in the lobby for a room. They apparently did not clean enough rooms for the night. After waiting 30 minutes, I booked at another hotel since nobody had gotten a room yet. So unprofessional and seriously poor planning and management.

This was the second time this year I have stayed with you in Birmingham.the first was in Southside, this weekend when I arrived to my room, I found no wash cloths, less than 1/4 roll of tissue, and no hand soap, it took going to the front desk twice to get the tissue and cloth..these were the same experiences as I had in Southside.I find that this is just to many issues..I travel when I can and always stay in your facilities, but I'm rethinking your facilities.

Upon arrival room was not ready. After waiting the room we were assigned was not clean. They moved us to a second room where the bed linens appeared dirty. There was dust and spilled coffee on the desk. Unfortunately our experience with this hotel was not good at all.

Ants in the Bed
We had ants in our room and in our bed. I called the desk and they had “no rooms” (which was a lie / room directly across from us was empty) available to move us to but offered to bring us up a can of ant spray. We declined to sleep on sheets sprayed with ant spray. We were told that the supervisor would call us when she came in at 2:30 and would either refund us a portion of our bill ($481) or give us a voucher for a future stay with their brand. 5 days, 4 phone calls and NOTHING. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL

The first room i was given was never cleaned. The second room, one of the blankets was covered in some kind of red/purple fluid. They didnt update the key properly for the second room and gave me the key for the wrong number of nights. Despite it saying cleaning wouldnt enter, they tried to because they thought the room was empty. The front desk was more interested in the football game than customer service. The floors were stained with bleach marks all over. Tub/shower drain acted as if it were completely clogged.

To make a long story short, the rooms were not available when stated and had to change rooms twice due to cleaning issues. At 11am was told the room would be ready at 2-3pm. Arrived at 4, was told it would be 6-7pm at the earliest and no other rooms available. I was a little upset. After seeing the look on my face (no words needed), rooms started coming available. 1st room had food in the fridge, microwave and under the couch cushions. (Flattened McDonalds burrito in the wrapper - very nice) The bathroom sink had standing water in it. 2nd room bath tub had been painted over and the paint was flaking/peeling up. Not terrible but not giving my 10 month old a bath in that.(rooms were on 1st floor with tobacco smoke smell) 3rd room - (2nd floor) came available after the manager and 2 employees cleaned it in 10 minutes. It was spotless. The cleanliness doesnt bother me so much as the "no rooms available" and "it will be a few more hrs before its ready". The whole point of reserving a room ahead of time is so that it can be ready upon arrival. Not to mention how fast rooms came available and then how fast they cleaned one. (From check-in at 4 to arriving in final room was about 35 minutes tops) Hampton/Hilton have always been my go to hotels, Ive always been very pleased with them. This will make me question staying in one again. There were alot of maintenance things needing done. Broken stairway locks, side door did not lock, bleach spots on carpets, etc.

Disappointing
Air conditioning was inadequate and kept the room damp the entire time. The front desk wasn’t friendly at all. The shower door wouldn’t stay closed which flooded the floor in the bathroom. Just an overall disappointing stay for the price of the room. Oh and the pool was so nasty the boys couldn’t even swim.
