Basic but clean and very comfortable, good breakfast, friendly staff, and nice location close enough to the NEC for business, but with beautiful woodland on the doorstep.

Convenient for a strip to the NEC Birmingham, just a 30 minute drive. This is actually the headquarters of the NASUWT The Teachers Union and I'm guessing they run residential teacher training courses from here and let out spare rooms when there are available. Very good self service breakfast and a very good price to stay, recommended.

Just Like Skool

Posted Mar 19, 2016 on Hotels
I was initially confused by the NASUWT over the door but learnt from a teacher friend that this establishment is owned by the union and is used for conferences etc. I was working nearby so this was handily placed, functional and cheap and, providing you treat it that way, then you'll be OK. There is a 'school' feeling to it actually. My room was small with the bed next to a draughty window but the heating was adequate enough to compensate. Breakfast was reasonable, likewise dinner but the eating areas are merely functional. Perhaps teachers like to feel like they are still in school or, more likely, the union don't have excess money. Still I ate up all my dinner so didn't have to stay behind after! ;)
