Room was nice. Breakfast buffet was good. They are in the middle of upgrading the rest of the hotel. Staff was very friendly and nice.

Pros: Convenience. Free airport shuttle. Breakfast bar was fantastic
Cons: A bit dated, but forgivable. Very comfortable bed.
Location: Sloss Furnace, convenience to airport a big draw.

Very quick stay overnight and left before 5 a.m.

So-so food in a so-so part of town, but efficient for my layover to get to the local airport early. I always stay here for this same reason.

Overall hotel ok. Cleanliness needs work

Pros: The staff was very helpful. Despite the fact their PC in the business center was not connecting to the internet Sunday evening, I was allowed to use a front desk PC to do my airline check in.
Cons: I am very disappointed to report that 2 days after returning home from my trip, I came down with several bed bug bites. The hotel needs to resolve these type of problems immediately.
Location: This Holiday Inn Express is about a half mile from the Birmingham, Alabama airport, which makes it very convenient to get to after getting a rentalcar

The front desk people would not help I got there at noon they wouldn't let me check in which was fine checking was it three they should let me get the room and come back at three so when I got there at 4:30 they gave me a one bedroom instead of the two they would not help me I just said to bad have a nice day after being on the phone with customer service from Holiday Inn for three hours wrecking my whole day after a 15 Hour Drive I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody The customer Service people from hotels.com were so terrible The only way I got a A refund was because of the holiday in customer service people told me something that hotel.com doesn't tell people that's the only reason they gave me a one night a refund I would not recommend hotel.com at all I learned a valuable lesson and will never ever ever use them again

They gave us room which was under contraction ,

Location: Non dead horrible
Bath tub was broken ,toilet comode tank without cover ,carpet was stain with contraction material ,very dusty in room ,not painted ,I got sick with allergies ,they promise us next day of stay they will move us from that under construction room and they move us to another floor with under construction and worst room .no hotel phone in room

Convenient and scary

The hotel was not in good shape. I travel a lot and I was actually uncomfortable with my safe. I didn't feel very safe going to and from my car or to and from my room.

Could be better

Hotels layout is ok, the room had a slightly stale smell to it and the bathtub drain was blocked. The room had a comfortable, clean bed and the TV had a good selection of channels to view. The hotel restaurant opens at 5pm so you have to go outside the hotel to get any food before then. There are a couple of gas stations stores and fast food restaurants across the road with decent food. Overall, good stay except for the slight smell in the room and the blocked drain.
