Restless night.

The rooms are pretty small, I don't have a problem with this as long as everything is fine with the room. The pillows were very hard and the duvet was like a very thick towel. To top it off the bed was mega stiff. It's says it's going to be comfy nights sleep, that's if you can get to sleep with all the cars speeding by outside. Triple glazing would have been nice to block the noise out. Especially in the rooms that face the road/roundabout! I wouldn't go back.

Bliss NOT

Average IBIS - no surprises given the price. Early morning breakfast a definite plus. Awful area and inability to service business request for hotel invoice inexplicable really (I booked through Hotels.Com). Would stay again for business but not social resons. Would not recommend to friends.

Hotel acceptable standard Breakfast not the greatest Was given a double room when i booked a twin Was asked to pay for the room when i had already paid months ago.

Not for disable

As someone traveling with my disable wife I requested a disable access room when we arrived the disable room we where given we could not get my wife's wheelchair into we had about half an hour wait to get another room which again we could not get the wheelchair into in the end we had to have a joining rooms and turn one bed up on its end to be able to move in the room with a small wheelchair

Get what you pay for

Pros: Not much
Cons: Move it from Birmingham
Location: Curry triangle is nearby but don't expect any wow factor there.
Even though the car park is enclosed in a formidable wrought iron fence someone still managed to go to the trouble of throwing a kebab at the front of my motorcycle.

Great Location / Nice Rooms

Stayed here with 6 friends. After a hold up checking in to our rooms we found the staff and hotel to be excellent. Was very well placed for both Edgbaston for the cricket and for St.Andrews (Birmingham City FC). £2 on bus to city centre (stop right around the corner) or just £10 for taxi. Have stayed in a few Ibis hotels but this was by far the best

Unwelcome reception

The staff work in reception are unwelcome, no flexible, we was not enjoyed, we like ibis hotel but the experience in Birmingham was not like another ibis, only we find a housekeeper very friendly and flexible

comfortable, relatively convenient for city centre

This hotel was comfortable if a little dated decor wise. However it was one of the most comfortable beds and indeed pillows I have slept on. The heating system was a bit strange as it was a fan blower thing, anyhow it was summer time so didn't need it this time. The hotel is located on a very busy roundabout so very little in the way of restaurants/shops around. However its quite close to the city centre and indeed it is walkable but perhaps not at night, overall good value for money. Would be nice to see a little more healthier choices on the hotel menu - e.g. vegetables and salads as it did seem a bit fast-food ish which is not my thing.
