An unexpected find

Posted Sep 24, 2016
Pros: See above
Cons: Nothing
Location: The location is a bit remote. As for things to do, there is the golf and the fishing; but other than that, we didn't explore the area
My friend and I were looking for a hotel in Birmingham for our annual visit to Edgbaston cricket ground. All the hotels were either full or ridiculously priced so we booked Patshull Park as a last resort, even though it was about an hour's drive away from where we ideally wanted to stay. We were glad we did so because we had a great stay. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds, with the golf course and/or the lake visible from most of the rooms. The bedrooms were large, clean and comfortable - and quiet. We ate in the restaurant on both evenings and the food was excellent. All the staff were very friendly and seemed to be happy to be looking after us. Thje deal we got, including breakfast and dinner, was very good value Overall, a great find. Despite the travel to and from the cricket, we will go back next year.

Functional stay but don't expect anything special

Posted Jun 17, 2016 on Hotels
A lovely venue, but dated decor and furniture. The seating layout in the bar combined with a single to meant this wasn't an inviting place to relax. Food served until 9.30 which was good and I had a tasty curry. Bedroom was hot and amenities functional without being special. Checkout was quick and very friendly.

Nice friendly staff

Posted Jun 3, 2016
Stayed here for two nights. The staff were all very friendly and efficient, the bar food and breakfasts were very good. Only let down was that the swimming pool was too hot making it uncomfortable to swim. However, when we mentioned it on check out, we were informed that there was a problem and that they were awaiting an engineer.

Old patio window that as a lone female didn't seem too safe so not a good nights sleep. Very cold room but they did bring me an electric heater.
