Upgrade construction was going on, but not noisy or inconvenient.

A welcome respite

Posted Dec 20, 2016
After 700 miles, the Wingate was a welcome respite. Pamela at the front desk was gracious and kind, suggesting several places where we could order in some food. The hotel is tucked away from traffic and is so wonderfully quiet. We will stay at another Wingate!

Nice hotel once renovations are complete

Posted Dec 17, 2016
Pros: The hotel is in a great location to restaurants and shops
Cons: Hopefully it will get better after the renovations are done
The hotel was under renovation, growth is good, but please do not assign guest room on the floor and in the area where work is being done. All we heard was talking and equipment to include a generator all during our stay. The first night, no one came to clean the room, so not only were we disturbed, when we return to the room it was not clean. Terrible experience

If we had seen hotel first we would not havestayed

Posted Nov 28, 2016
There was no hot water in our room. Complained and was given a key to a room down the hall so we could shower. I had surgery the next day, after my family returned to the hotel there was still no hot water. Very frustrating. Should have received a discount for the trouble but we didn't

We cannot give discounts to third parties because we are paid by the third party not the guest. I am sorry for the hot water issue and we have had this resolved.

Under "Renovations"

Posted Oct 31, 2016
Location: Great location for food and shopping. Right off 280.
The hotel is obviously under renovations and I was there on a big weekend so those factors are considered when writing this review. However, the evening staff were a bit irritated and not that helpful. There was debris on the floors in the room and the bath tub was not up to par.

Location: There were quite a few restaurants nearby.
The hotel is in the process of renovations. Our room was a newly renovated room and was very nice. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and the bedroom and bathroom were both immaculate. The breakfast was delicious.

I have stayed at this hotel before, but this time they were in the middle of a remodel, and had oversold the available rooms. I had reserved a double queen room and was given a king with a pull out couch. In the end, the room met my needs, but wasn't what was I had planned on. After the refresh is completed, and all rooms are available, I think that all of my issues will be resolved.

Under complete construction October 2016

Posted Oct 7, 2016
Location: A very long drive into downtown.
Stay away from this hotel until they finish the renovations. The complete hotel is being refurbished. The only place it felt like it wasn't under construction was in my room. The lobby walls and floor were just sheet rock, no floor tiles, carpets anything. Up on my floor, it was the same. Light fixtures (working) were hanging (!) out of the walls and all the signs were on the floor. Room numbers were marked in tape - yes, masking tape with a room number marked on it. Absolutely unbelievable. I have never, ever, in 30+ years of travelling been in a hotel that had as much construction - and still were serving clients. They should have closed.

Under construction

Posted Oct 3, 2016
I did not know the hotel was j dear construction. Roommate new fixtures and furniture but bathroom had bugs. Ants and a dead roach in it. Ants were crawling on toilet and sink counter. Staff was friendly and nice.
