I'm glad you had such a lovely time in Blackpool. I'm sorry you weren't expecting a tray charge in room service, this is mentioned on our menu, but the team should have also told you as you ordered your food so that you can make an informed choice. Please accept my apologies if this wasn't the case. Hope to see you again! Best wishes, Alison

This may have been a great hotel in its day, but that day is long past.

So sorry to read that you didn't love the Imperial. She is 150 this year and is a grand old lady if a little tired, but we are constantly refurbishing, hope you'll try us out again at some stage, best wishes, Alison

Excellent hotel pity about noisy doors

Posted Jul 4, 2017
Pros: Staff, pool & food
Cons: Fire doors softer closing required
Location: Close to everything. great for cycling. would recommend walk/cycle along pedestrian promenade from Rossall to Fleetwood
Great value and position with excellent food and super pool. The only really downside are the spring loaded fire doors. constant noise as doors close. While good to know that fire doors are in place perhaps an adjustment could be made to make doors less noisy. This said I would stay here again, staff are excellent though dead light bulb in room was never replaced.

wanted to leave straight away

Not sure who to blame for my negative stay in Blackpool, the hotel or the people around. After travelling from birmingham for 3.5 hours (for a journey that should have taken 2.2 hours but hey you win some you lose some) I think it's quite acceptable to be wearing trainers and casual clothes - well you'd think this... guests were staring at us as though they'd never seen casual clothes or middle-eastern skin in their lives. Also couldn't help but feel as though our receptionist was shy to talk to us as it was like being checked in by a robot. The couple next to us we're having a lovely greeting and conversation with their receptionist, smiles all round. We got to our room, and to be honest, waned to just go home... the room was very small, old furniture, old bathroom with burn marks in it. The Windows looked like they haven't been cleaned for the whole 150 years that hotel has been open, so if you have a room with a view, don't expect to see anything. The radiators were filthy and ill-fitted and the "room for 2" had ONE plug socket - located on the opposite side of the room to bed. The doors were old and required a big slam to close them, so that's what you hear thoughout your stay, along with rude comments from guests like "oh gangsters stay here" - unsure where they derived this comment from, but it couldn't have been our attire as we were dressed up going for a meal. I definitely won't be returning to this hotel, not worth even the discounted price available at the moment

Dear Amanda, oh I'm so sorry to read that you felt uncomfortable during your stay. You were extremely welcome at the hotel as are all our guests. We do have a new receptionist Gemma, whose lovely but still a little unsure. Its a big job to learn, especially our IT systems and this can take time, however I would expect her to be warm and friendly and I will show her your comments to learn from. Amanda, the windows are cleaned every month but with the location of the hotel and the salty, sandy winds, it is impossible to keep them pristine at all times. I'm sorry the Imperial was not your cup of tea, and I hope you find a perfect home to stay next time you stay. With best wishes, Alison

Posted Jun 30, 2017
on arriving we were shown to a disgusting dark room that looked onto a building curtains falling of rail and net curtains with cigarette burns on checking bedding the sheets had blood stains I immediately phoned for the manager then by magic we were offered three rooms to pick from more to the point this was a room for a disabled person as we are not disabled I cannot imagine why we're here I feel sorry for a disabled person being put in here the room number was 357 I will add photos

Disappointing

Posted Jun 6, 2017
Pros: Friendly staff, location
Cons: The hotel needs some TLC in places - breakfast staff need to be more alert.
Location: Very good location near al attractions in centre, tram stop opposite and easy to get round.
Check in very friendly. However the room I expected from Expedia - superior room - was a standard with a sea view and small. Expedia need to be more accurate in the description of their rooms. No much cupboard or drawer space and didnt feel superior at all. Constantly having to ask for things several times - never got the fan we asked for , always asking for milk as none or little left each morning, and then door left open after cleaner had been in mainly because doors are so old and heavy that you have to bang them to close so constant noise of banging doors. Although hotel is full of character it really does need some TLC - furniture in rooms old now and marked and carpets tatty in places. Breakfast was ok when you got the attention of the waiting staff and on last morning (monday) there was only one member of staff visible so gave up asking for things. Staff however are friendly and when complained about the door being left open got a very quick response and a free bottle of wine with a note form the duty manager with an offer of any upgrade for last night - was v impressed. Overall though, not for me.

Nice hotel,does to everything

If you're cool with an older building this is a nice place.Well kept up.Breakfast was better than most. It's on the strip and a close walk to the partying, but up far enough where it was fairly quiet. The staff was very good to us.

Beautiful hotel, both outside and inside.

Hotel was lovely - traditional decor - lovely room - staff could not have been nicer. I think it would be a struggle to find anywhere better in Blackpool. Will definitely be back to this hotel!
