Lack of friendly customer service was a big issue

Posted Dec 18, 2017
Pros: Breakfast was excellent
Cons: The attitude and approach of some of the staff in the main customer interfacing areas i.e. Reception and the Number 10 bar.
Location: Location is good but it was difficult to get into town, did not see any trams or taxis at night.
We booked this hotel on the understanding that it was dog friendly but only discovered when we arrived, after travelling 250 miles, that the policy had changed earlier this year. Had to leave the dog in the car which was not acceptable. Car park was full and the guy on Reception would not even allow us to drive in and drop off the luggage at the door, I had to park a 15 minute walk away. The same guy in Reception would not order us a taxi and give us any advice as to how to get into town. The lady in charge of the Number 10 bar, was very aggressive and confrontational, the way she spoke to guests was terrible. When asked by a guest for her name she covered up her badge. Breakfast was fantastic as was the lady on Reception when we checked out. Way overpriced for the experience and still trading on years gone by when many famous people stayed there.

Thanks so much Derrill for your feedback, I'm saddened to read that you faced some challenges with the team and decisions were made which I was not consulted about. I have followed your comments up with the team members concerned directly. I do hope that in time you'll try us out again Derrill and wish you and your family a very happy new year, Alison

First class hotel

Posted Dec 13, 2017
Pros: Everything, what is there not to like.
Location: The Imperial is close enough to be part of the scene, but away from the Blackpool 'hurly burly' .
If you want a relaxing hotel, with first class food and service, then The Imperial is perfect. We went for my partner's birthday, out of season and his first trip to Blackpool and were not disappointed. The food equalled any Michelin * restaurant. The service was second to none and the staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating. The hotel itself is steeped in history and the restoration of the original features is a credit to those involved. We would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Relaxing hotel

Posted Dec 12, 2017
Pros: Excellent location great views, staff very good with restaurant and reception staff top rate. Food very good.
Cons: The imperial is a very grand old school hotel but caters for everyone. The only thing that can change is the staff and they don’t need changing.
Location: It is a ten minute walk to the tower and the centre of Blackpool.
We wanted a relaxing break and that is what we got with help from the staff

After a long drive and difficulty with the many Blackpool in town diversions/works, the Victorian Imperial Hotel on the Prom. was like an Oasis. Large double bed, very comfortable. Good value.

Good old traditional hotel

Posted Dec 4, 2017
Pros: The hotel has atmosphere due to its links with the past.
Cons: Rooms need updating.
The room we stayed in this time was a little 'tired' to say the least; toilet roll holder spinning round on tiles, sealing a mess on wash basin but nothing to distract too much from our stay.
