We all have our own unique oasis; that place where we seek refuge and find relief from the day's troubles. Our own personal oasis adds beauty to our lives and provides a place of peace.

Throughout history, legends have described an oasis as being a welcome sight to weary travelers, a lush sanctuary that provided rest on a long journey or a place to be replenished to begin a new journey. The essential characteristic of an oasis is water, and what better place for a modern day oasis than here on the New River.

In nature, an oasis is a place that nurtures life; it's where things grow. Just as a natural oasis provides fertile ground and nourishing water to plants, our own personal oasis nourishes our beings so that we may grow and feel replenished.

Midnight Oasis does just that, it is a place of quiet serenity inviting us to escape for a few days and be revitalized by the river, the woods and the simple things like an evening campfire or a morning walk by the water.

It was a perfect birthday getaway
Location, cabin, and hospitality was perfect. Only minus is the bedroom fan was a bit wobbly. It made a clicking sound. And for a pet friendly cabin, the idea that pets are not allowed to sit on anything is not fun. At least a) provide a designated pet blanket or cover the sofa with some sort of pet protection fabric. Other than that, probably one of the best birthday present ever.

We had a very relaxing weekend at this sweet cabin by the river. The porch was perfect for winding down after a long day. The house was clean and well stocked, we especially enjoyed the welcome gift of cider and snacks.

Wonderful little cabin on the river. Was great to hear very few sounds other than nature. Clean and cozy living space with lots of amenities. Will be back in the summer to enjoy the outdoors more. Was a perfect spot to retreat for a couple of days and get away from daily stress.

Morning Oasis Cabin
Where should I begin…the place is absolutely gorgeous. The cabin itself was very clean. We had an issue with the toilet but Debbie the caretaker of the cabin came out and fixed it for us. We sat out on the porch nearly every morning/day to just take in the scenery and weather. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect for Labor Day weekend. The campground in the other field was packed with campers but amazingly so quiet. I do have to give a shot out to River Junction Campground, very nice people and we rented a kayak trip for the day and then we also went tubing on two different days. The River is a lot fun with some small rapids enough to get you wet a little bit. Expect about a 3 hr kayak trip if the water level is relatively low and a 4-5 hr tubing trip.. Please support River Junction Campground. We went to the Hillsville flea market which was really cool and almost overwhelming how big it was. Overall it was one of our favorite spots so far looking forward to checking out more cabins through New River Retreat. We will definitely be back here!

Wanted to be close to the new River trail. Was about 15 minutes to allisonia. That was fine. There’s no WiFi here. That’s the only drawback.
