Nice but needs to be updated

Posted Nov 3, 2017
The breakfast was very good. The staff was very accommodating but was not at the front desk all the time. The tub had layers of porcelain missing, there needs to be more electrical outlets in the room, and the lamps by the bed needs to have cell phone outlets.

A bit sterile

Posted Oct 30, 2017
Cons: Softer pillows.
Location: Good proximity to Chirstiansburg and Blacksburg.
This was the last hotel room in Blacksburg on a football weekend and I paid way too much for it. The hotel is a block of cement with holes cut out for rooms. My room stunk of cigarette smoke (and it was supposed to be non-smoking), the bed was very hard, and the pillows were awful. I would rather skip the football game next time if this is the only room left in town.

We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your stay. We apologize for any smell of smoke in your guest room. Unfortunately, guests will occasionally decline to honor the no smoking status of their rooms and we try to catch that failure and to deep clean the rooms sufficiently that non-smoking guests are not negatively impacted. We obviously failed in that endeavor in the room you occupied. We hope that you will reconsider staying with us in the future so we will have the opportunity to replace this experience with a superior one.

Typical Days Inn. Old and dirty.

Posted Oct 24, 2017
Pros: Location
Cons: needs a whole new makeover
The Lobby was pretty nice and the gentleman who checked us in was very nice but everything on the way to the room was dirty and in need of repair and fresh paint. The room itself smelled musty and like smoke. There were dark stains on one of the pillows, the sheets were so old they were grey and threadbare. We asked for a refund and left. Fortunately the guy who checked us in was very nice about it and did not give us a hard time at all.

Dingy uncomfortable room with windows looking at the parking lot and walkway. Blinds have to be constantly closed and the room dark unless you like passerbys looking at you.

Average hotel

Posted Oct 9, 2017
Pros: Close to Virginia Tech campus
Cons: Update room decor, replace and repair broken items,
Location: Virginia Tech, mountains
Stayed here for a family weekend for Virginia Tech. The room was advertised as a "King with hot tub" and there was no hot tub. When I asked the front desk, they reported they only had one room with a hot tub and that was a $214 "suite" and they were slightly apologetic for the error. This hotel was adequate but not for $145 nightly. The bed was not comfortable, the doorknob on the bathroom door was falling off and had been hastily patched and there was a nasty toilet plunger in visible site in the bathroom. Not sure if the prices were jacked up due to Family Weekend but you will not get your money's worth if you pay $145 a night.

Cockroach in bathtub, no air conditioning all weekend despite complaining to the front desk, pitiful excuse for breakfast. Enough said!
