Halfway toFlorida

Pros: The hjotel staff
Cons: Washroom
Location: We always go to Fatz restaurant for dinner.
Trip was delayed from Ottawa and the manager and staff of the hotel were very understanding,cooperative and moved our reservation so we did not loss any money. Can't say enough good about these people. Going back for sure.

My mistake

Pros: The attendant were excellent. Connie hooked me up with an ice bag so I wouldn't have to walk all the way to my room to get my ice bucket.
Cons: See my statement above. It details that issues that need to be addressed.
Location: They was a Dairy Queen nearby. And the next exit had everything- all fast food, Walmart and Fatz which was delicious.
The first issue was that Expedia did not charge my card until I arrived. After we moved past that, I didn't realize until the attendant said that I was in a smoking room. The great thing was that I was given an upgrade with a hot tub, that I didn't use because of the headache. I found a little bug in between the black and white pictures. That creeped me out because of the thought of having critters fall on you as you slept (uugh). While I should have asked to be moved because I'm a non smoker with newly developed allergies, I suffered the night through. I was attempting to freeze out the room but the ac was not as guest friendly as I thought. It was loud when on high and wouldn't get the room as cool as I'd like because stayed on an automatic setting that did not reach 60 degrees. Needless to say, I was up all night with a headache, sweating, coughing and blowing my nose. While I am not a hotel assessor, I would suggest that the bathroom walls be cleaned from ceiling to floor. There were splattered coffee stains on all the bathroom walls, cobwebs in the bathroom corners and not enough facial tissue in the box in the bathroom. And, please clean the dead bugs out of the ac unit. It's highly visible and seriously off-putting to any guest who trying to adjust the thermostat. Again, I'm not a huge complainer this was a great opportunity to give my opinion. The best part was the manager who I never met and the attendant Connie. They were excellent to me.

This place was so dirty I book for 2 nights and up leaving the hotel next morning the smell was so bad in the room we couldn't take it do not waste your money

Stop over halfway to Florida.

Pros: Clean even if somewhat dated. Great staff familiar with local restaurants. Ample parking close to interstate.
Cons: Bed were somewhat uncomfortable and need replacement.
Location: Restaurants nearby.
Basic but nice. Hot breakfast with decent choices. Good pool and hot tub.

Quiet, quaint, and quality

This Sleep Inn & Suites in Dublin, Virginia fit the bill in several ways. Our primary concern was lodging where we were allowed to bring our cat. We also needed a place located conveniently off of the interstate we were traveling (I-81). Lastly, we wanted a place that wouldn't take a huge bite out of our vacation/traveling budget. It accomplished all three with flying colors. In addition, the hotel, dining area, and our room were clean and well-maintained, and it was located in a safe area with plenty of parking in a well-lit parking lot. The woman who checked us in after a very long day of traveling couldn't have been any more friendly, kind, and considerate. Should our travels bring us this way again (especially with a cat), I would certainly look to book our stay there.

Not bad for the price.

Pros: Nice amenities. Indoor pool/jacuzzi/small fitness room. Nice sized rooms.
Cons: Cleanliness of bathroom.
Location: Right off interstate. Next to gas/food. Near Claytor Lake State Park.
Good location for travelers on I-81. Check in staff were very nice. Bathroom could have been cleaner. Room size nice and bed was comfortable. I would stay again for the price and location if just overnight stop.

Hotel served the purpose

Pros: Location
Hotel was a bit run down. There was an unusual smell in the hallway but not in the room. The carpet in the room seemed a little dirty and in one the rooms the air conditioner filter was out and laying on top of the unit. When we got back from the game late at night and wanted to shower before bed we had no towels. Breakfast was OK.

Indoor Pool - poor ventilation -
