Our Stay in Bloomington

Posted Jun 26, 2015
Pros: The coffee availability.
Cons: Heat the pool. It was also very small, like an afterthought. Next time, we will be staying at a hotel with a heated indoor pool, with a whirlpool.
Location: It was a good location, but there wasn't much to do, except restaurants. There WAS a beautiful park, but it wasn't very close.
We went down to Bloomington to visit Funks Grove and Shirley, Illinois. Everything was very nice at the Comfort Inn, except for the included breakfast. The sausage was one of the weirdest things we ever saw or tasted. It was a big disk, maybe 5 inches wide that was more like a piece of very cheap salami. The "fried" egg was some frozen thing, out of a bag. It was awful. The scrambled eggs the next day seemed like they were rehydrated powdered eggs. Everything else was fine. We especially liked that the coffee was available 24/7.

Everything was clean and comfortable!

Over all, the nicest place we've ever stayed. The breakfast was great and the staff was very nice. I would definitely book here again and refer this hotel to others!

Serious construction issues

Posted May 23, 2015 on Hotels
We checked in was greeted at the desk by a nice man who gave us our room key. Went up to the room walked in and found the floor to be unlevel by about 2" starting at about halfway across the room. Went downstairs to ask for a different room we're told that they were booked questioned him about the room was told that it had to be that way for the roof. Didn't tell him that I am a union carpenter of over 35 years and in all my time no floor had been so out of level this place has serious issues I wouldn't recommend staying there

Clean, spacious and comfortable

Posted May 18, 2015 on Hotels
The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. There was ample parking. The front desk was helpful in giving us directions. I checked out the outdoor pool which didn't look to clean but other than that, it was a decent stay. Breakfast was average with a lot of options. I thought the hotel was overpriced due to the area but I would stay again.

hotel stay

Posted May 15, 2015 on Hotels
The hotel was close to the interstate highway. The front desk clerks could be more friendly. Couldn't get a receipt of my hotel bill as I had the reservation thru hotels.com. Couldn't check until after three p.m. The breakfast area could be bigger.

Room was pretty clean. However, when we 1st walked into the room there was toilet paper sitting in the toilet and towel that appeared to be used tossed up on the counter.

Better than expected

Posted May 9, 2015 on Hotels
Great stay for a two-day auction getaway. Easy to find, right off the highway, but not terribly noisy. Desk staff was helpful and responsive. Breakfast was better than expected and not the same for both mornings we were there. I would stay here again if in the area.

A comfortable hotel

Posted May 6, 2015 on Hotels
We arrived early and the desk clerk was great about finding us a room. Unfortunately, the room wasn't the best we've stayed in at Comfort Suites. The telephone didn't work, you couldn't hit the front desk key for a connection (you could hit the zero and someone answered) and the bathtub wall had a lot of goop from a previous shelf that had been removed or fallen off. We reported the phone since it also constantly flashed red as if we had a message but it was never fixed.
