Rather than the poor attempt at providing a desultory breakfast of toast and tea -- there are a dozen cafés within a short walk that provide a hot breakfast -- spend the money to hire actual cleaners, not somebody's layabout son who can't even hoover the extremely dirty carpets. You have the most important thing: convenient location. Keep the premises clean and you will have non-stop and reasonably satisfied customers. Despite the noise (>_<) wow, Guilford Street is noisy. I have low expectations for a convenient cheap hotel near KX but you managed to fall far below them.

Staff, very pleasant and helpful. Room very clean, great mattress. Bathroom clean, shower perhaps a bit low on water pressure, but decent and hot water. All in all, great value for money.

The single room No.611 was dirty. The bathroom was disgusting. I couldn't even bring myself to use the shower. I felt the need to wash my hands every time I touched anything. Breakfast was cereal, toast and instant coffee. I have taken photos as I can't believe Expedia would advertise this place !!!

Single bed sloped to the left so kept thinking i was going to fall out carpet dirty, grime on skirting boards and top of cupboards .... But heh £82 for room in London if you're not too fussy its ok value

Room was tiny. Bed uncomfortable. Back of tv thick with dust. Toilet/shower absolutely tiny, basically a converted cupboard. Had to ask for new towels. When asking for iron and ironing board told to fetch the board myself. Area is fine but for £100 a night you can get far, far better.

Relatively cheap stay is the only slight positive, as for the rest it’s about as awful as you can get. Don’t be fooled by breakfast included, basically help yourself to a few cereals and some bread in a cramped, dirty little room.

This is the most dirtiest run down hotel I have ever stayed in - avoid like the plaque - I have to say I’m disappointed that Hotels.com list this dump . It wasn’t worth £20 let alone the £93 for a grotty room that was disgusting

Good cheap room with small bathroom and breakfast included. Would stay again. Is basic & cheap and short walk to Russell Square Station. Shower not very warm & shower head cracked but is cheap single room accommodation in London so get what you pay for.

Nasty place
The room I had in this place was pretty nasty. I don't normally reply or post reviews, but this place leaves me wondering if I stated there any longer I might get a disease or more. The room I had, the bed was multi colored and stained with who knows what. The bed was positioned against a hard wall and the sheets were easily moved off the bed exposing the dirtyness underneath the sheets. The bathroom is incredibly small and uncomfortable to sit in and take showers in. The TV, which was a computer monitor and not a TV, barely worked and the phone in the room did not work and had no signal to the concierge's office, if there was that office. Spend an extra $10 to stay somewhere else or better yet stay at a hostel for much cheaper somewhere else and stay disease-free.

My wife was in tears
Not at all what I hoped for for an anniversary weekend in London. No comparison with the description or write-up. It was actually the hotel next door to the Grenville. A hostel for the price of a reasonable hotel. We didn't stay and moved to a much better hotel for not much more money. Asked for a partial refund but no response. Got a voucher from hotels.com

The hotel could use a lot of upgrading but for the price it works. The TV connection was horrendous but the rest of the room was quaint. My only major issue was that it was very cold and damp in the room and there was no way to control the temperature and bedding was limited. Otherwise, the staff was pleasant and the location was very good.

Great location, walkable and convenient. The room was on a small side and bathroom looked like an aircraft cabin, however if you're looking for a one night "bag drop off" in London type of accommodation, you cannot beat that, as the price was really good for London.

The building is very dated and the room was not all that clean; some parts reeked of cigarette smoke. Good location, breakfast was OK (basic, cereal and toast), but that's about the only saving grace. It's fine if you need a cheap-ish, convenient place to stay. Nothing else!

The location is great but the accommodation is terrible. The walls are very thin, the windows do not shut properly so the night time noise can be loud. Other guests can be heard coming and going all night. A restful sleep was impossible.

Not a great experience
The so called hotel is a room in an old building with small rooms. the rubbish from the guests before me was still in the room, the bathroom had all sorts of hair in it which wasn’t my hair! shoes from the staff or owner including socks are sitting in the hallway, the breakfast room was so small that you simply can’t sit in it and the breakfast is basically toast with jam or cornflakes and an instant coffee plus a carton of orange juice on the table. terrible experience and I cannot recommend the place at all!

Absolutely awful . Not suitable for rental
Hotel is absolutely awful, dirty, unkept, if the trains would have been running I’d have gone home, If I was able to book somewhere else believe me I would have !!!! The carpets was smelly the bed linen had stains ! I slept in my clothes.. could not wait to leave at 8am in the morning.. I would go as far to say I wouldn’t even let my dog stay in that room .. how they think it’s actually acceptable to charge over a 100 pound a night is an absolute joke ! Hotels.com you need to take this off your page ASAP
