Dirty, it was impossible to sleep in such a place, I lost my money because they said it was too late for a refund. the photos on the site do not reflect reality, highly not recommended

Nice place; but the bunk beds were extremely loud which makes getting up in the middle of the night sound like a klaxon alarm. Just hope you dont need to drink some water or go to the toilet while on the top bunk :)

The room was filthy the tv didnt work and was told to go to common room an watch tv with other guests, the shower curtain was that mouldy it stuck to itself the shower itself was disgusting doesnt look like its been cleaned in a long time.

Nice choice to stay in Katoomba
A very comfortable hostel in the Blue Mountians area (Katoomba). The staff are very hospitable. Facilities are real up to par. WIll stay here if I ever return to this area.

People would just walk in in the middle of the night, it seemed like there was no cut off for booking times or showing up.. however if I wanted accommodation I’d just rock up at any minute of the night..

Why would Wotif say that the rooms have private bathrooms if they don’t. It’s so annoying if the description of the room is wrong and I have to go on an expedition to find a toilet at 2am

We stayed here for a night. The Checkin process was a lil bit of a hassle, it was a lil tough to find the place too. The shared bathrooms were not very clean, it was super cold but we were provided heaters. Overall an okay stay but I would not go back.

It is budget accommodation, so do not expect much but still good to stay for a night when all day in the Blue Mountains. Clean and quiet, though internet didn't work last weekend

Oldiesh but quiet, clean and close to the city. Grocery shops and restaurants walk within 5 minutes. I would definitely stay again.

The overall property was okay! It really is nothing fancy, but it was a quiet and clean environment with staff leaving you to your own devices. I was not a large fan of the shared bathroom and showers, it was pretty inconvenient. The hotel staff were very kind and warm, with excellent customer service skills. Overall, if you are looking for a simple hotel and an inexpensive nights stay, this is the place for you.

lovely period property, great situation next to all the shops and restaurants, clean, comfy bed, lots of areas to relax, reading room. Gushing hot water and nice baths, would definitely stay again

Older building nevertheless very clean with friendly staff. My room and bathroom areas were spotless. A huge fire burning in the communal lounge room much appreciated by all on a very cold snowy weekend. Travellers on a budget this place is ideally situated close to everything of interest. Station and restaurants just a five minute walk along Katoomba St. I will most likely stay again when travelling on my own

I hadn’t expected a backpackers lodge. So I was upset when I arrived. However the place was relatively clean, though the mattresses were hard and springy.

Pleasant lounge areas, clean kitchen, value for money. Please consider installing timer switches on lights in lounge / dining areas. These areas are only used intermittently and the lights were often left on.

The room was a basic single, wardrobe, bedside table and wardrobe and sink. The bed was clean, plenty of pillows, spare blanket in wardrobe if needed and 2 clean towels. Free wifi pass included. Communial bath/showers and toilets, always clean and hot water, all worked fine. there were communial quite reading area and lounge sitting room with tv. Also a communal kitchen where you could make a meal as long as wash-up/clean afterwards, also a dining table area to sit. All in all, the lodge was great, nothing fancy, its an old building but a bit of character, but it was all clean, everything functioned and was perfect for me on my own for a few nights stay. Plus its in the centre of Katoomba close to coffee shops etc. I'm now retired, travel solo, but in my working life have stayed in fancy hotels, motels, resorts etc. The Katoomba Mountain Lodge was perfect for my needs, a bed to sleep, hot showers and toilet facilities all clean. I could have got some stuff from the local supermarket and cooked in the communail kitchen, but I choose to make use of the local cafes, pizza etc. PS. traditional pizza at the Station Bar was great.

Wasn’t as clean as I wanted, and very little cooking utensils there and even eating utensils, and the owner was a rude man , took me 30 Minutes just to get the key even though I rang and said I’d be there between the times

Great value. Great spot.
Owner was very accommodating making arrangements for me to check in after midnight even though there was no one to be there in reception at that time. I did find it a little difficult to find the place in the dark as the building is not on street level but up a steep set of stairs. Really loved the vibe of the place. Not as noisy as some backpackers in Sydney I have been to. All round, excellent value for money. Will definitely be back.

A great place to stay in katoomba on a budget, nice rooms, cooking facilties, friendly owner and quiet. Close to everything and a nice atmosphere about the lodge. Thank you for the upgraded room with a view. We will definitely be back .

I Was surprised to find people sleeping in common area like TV room and Reading room. Room is a little bit dusty. Common toilet was quite cold in winter without heater. The positive point is very nearby to restaurants, supermarkets and shopping.

Walls are thin, not very sound proof so can heard people walking by our room. Floor board creeked a lot adding to the noise, inside and outside room. Can heard foot steps at night, kids running around, people talking. Didn’t sleep well. Only 1 shower working or open. Shared bathroom, no en-suite. one step from a hostel.

The common lounge room is absolutely welcoming: A nice log-look gas fire, calming original paintings on walls, lovely high view, big-screen TV, sweetly furnished window seats and comfy lounges. The bed in my room was excellent: so comfortable. The kitchen is practical. They need proper mugs. The check-in tour was a little too quick, and nobody knew where the showers were.

Basic accomodation with no frills. Simple check in and out process. Room was clean. Could do with a bigger heater in the rooms for those chilly Blue Mountains Winter nights. Nice views outside the room.

Great Location
The Lodge is in an excellent location in Katoomba. Its old but is comfortable with several lounge areas and a kitchen and dining area. I was disappointed that my credit card was debited with fees attached before my arrival even tho the Hotels.com website said I would either pay on check in or check out. I was told this was normal practice but they would refund and allow me to pay another way. I chose not to do this as I have experienced problems with this in the past. In spite of this I would stay again.
