Good location

Posted Jul 12, 2016
No frills hotel, small very basic breakfast. The room lighting is very poor making it difficult to see at night.Unfortunately bed bugs are present in some of the beds .The hotel is in a good location and very quiet and safe. The staff are very pleasant and helpful.

We would like to apologize for all the inconveniences. We take very seriously your complain, it is the first time in 18 years we have been in business that a guest complains about bed bugs, we will take actions immediately. We have strong health and sanitary procedures that comply and in some cases are more strict than what the Colombian regulation requires. We send all our bedding to a specialized laundry service outside location so the highest sanitary and environmental standards are meet. We will look into this issue, and make sure you will not find this kind problem again in our Hotel. Best regards, Johana Martínez Hotel Casona del Patio

Wonderful hotel on a quiet street-highly recommend

Posted Feb 27, 2016
Pros: The staff is amazing. The WIFI was strong the entire stay.
Cons: Window screens would be nice to keep out mosquitoes.
This is a wonderful hotel on a quiet street in the Chapinero district of Bogota. The staff provided great service and a secure facility. Despite not speaking a common language, the staff was very patient with our broken Spanish and use of Google Translate. The room did not have air conditioning but opening the windows allowed us to get a breeze in the room. Window screens would be nice to keep out mosquitoes. The WIFI was strong the entire stay. The included breakfast was nice just to get some fuel in before wandering around (but by no means great). The art in the hotel reflects local attractions and the names of the rooms refer to landmarks and districts within Bogota. I want to note this is the only hotel we stayed at in Colombia that did not charge my credit card until we checked out. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Bogota.

Cozy Colombian courtyard

Beautiful hotel in a safe and convenient neighborhood. Courtyard with flowers, free breakfast, fast internet, extremely kind staff - what more could you need?

pay the little bit extra to stay somewhere else

Posted Jun 21, 2015
This hotel is basic and really provides nothing more than a place to sleep. The breakfast is embarrassingly bad. One morning, it was just a piece of cold bread. It's not worth the low price when you either have to start your day with a pathetic breakfast, or you go somewhere and pay more to have a real breakfast, which defeats the purpose of staying at a low cost hotel in the first place. The internet was also unstable and randomly would stop working. There was no heat in the room I stayed, so one night it was uncomfortably cold, even wearing a sweater. It's not like this place was incompetent or awful, it's just that it is in general a bad deal.

Nice hotel, friendly staff in a good neighborhood.

Posted Mar 5, 2015
Pros: Reasonable price, small hotel in a quiet neighborhood. The staff was helpful and friendly.
Location: Hotel is near restaurants, grocery store, transmillenio and shopping of all sorts. It is on a very quiet street but close so some major streets.
I was a little nervous about staying in a large city like Bogota but found myself at home at this hotel in this neighborhood. I ended up checking in early, staying longer and needing to keep my bag at the hotel all day after checking out because of a night flight and I found the staff accommodating to my requests. Most of all I just appreciated not feeling like a stranger in a large city. The hotel is is a peaceful residential area and I had a large room. After a while I felt like it was just like an apartment with easy access to the street and a normal neighborhood. The neighborhood is very secure even at night.

great staff, excellent location

Posted Feb 23, 2015
we really enjoyed walking in the neighborhood near the hotel. I have traveled a lot and never have experienced a friendlier, more professional staff - they were excellent without exception. I was very comfortable here and have already made plans to return at the end of my visit to Colombia.

Not worth the savings over a normal hotel.

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: Location and security
Cons: Check Out Process
Location: Many options
Location is outstanding, Hotel is safe and secure. Our room was next to the road very loud in the morning. Food was basic but well priced. Staff was very nice and helpful. Big issue at check out. Staff refused to accept a credit card, requested me to use an ATM offsite. Finally after 20 minutes of explaining that I needed to use the cc they used the phone to authorize the credit card. That took another 25 minutes. Should have just done that to begin with. Resulting in me missing my flight and paying for another flight for 160.00 USD. I could have used that money to stay at a nicer hotel. Very frustrating.

It's not bad

Posted Apr 9, 2014
Pros: It's in a great zone of Bogota, very near to nice houses and restaurants.
Cons: The description of the hotel as well as the time it takes to get there from the airport.
Location: It's close to the G Zone and there are a lot of restaurants there.
This hotel is not that close to the airport as shown here, it's about 20 minutes away in a taxi without too much traffic. The place is like an old house that was conditioned to be a hotel and given that I'm not a very good fan of those type of places I didn't like it a lot.

Excellent for singles. Great transit nearby.

Posted Mar 16, 2014
Pros: The friendly, personable staff. They stored my perishables in their fridge for my stay.
Cons: Could this hotel be moved to serve wine?
Location: Many good restaurants, movie theatre and shopping centre, two theatres, super market with deli and licensed restaurantat a 10 minute walk.
The hotel is in a quiet area, with lots of good and reasonably priced restaurants to choose from. The hotel fee includes a thoroughly adequate breakfast. You can also have a very good lunch and adequate dinner there. At least one of the staff speaks good English if that is needed. Many foreigners around to share experiences with. The area is safe, but watch out for scammers on the street near the bigger hotels (i.e. the Marriot nearby) The rooms are comfortable and welcoming, but not luxurious. Bathroom is good - no extras.
