Older hotel

Hotel is in desperate need of a remodel. Carpet worn out, chair had holes in seat and bathroom was terrible. Pool had hair in it and on walking area. Staff was nice.

Pool hours changed

We have always stayed at this La Quinta while in Caldwell, which is frequently to visit family. The reason we have stayed there has been the 24 hour pool. This last weekend marks the last of our stays there. The pool is no longer 24 hour. When asked why that was changed the lady at the desk was very rude. She even said, "you are more than welcome to stay somewhere else." And you can bet we will.

Badly in Need of an Upgrade

The hotel staff was very nice and worked hard to make our stay pleasant. Unfortunately, the whole building is badly in need of an upgrade. I think I saw a poster up in the dining room that said they were planning some remodeling so they're probably aware of the problem. On the positive side, the room was clean in spite of its somewhat run down condition. On the other hand, our bathroom sink had a huge circular crack in it. When I was taking a shower, the incoming water switched from shower to bath without my touching anything. Self-serve reakfast was good with a nice variety of options, and the woman who stocked the food area and cleaned up was extremely helpful and courteous. I also enjoyed the swimming pool.

It was close to place we needed to be for the weekend. The maid did a good job of cleaning but the walls and floors in the bathroom were full of mold. mold under the floor covering and mold in the ceiling above the shower. It had been painted over but was stilll coming through. One spot was so bad the mold bubbles was about the size of a tennis ball.

Nice Stay

Jet tub and comfy bed

Pros: convenience
Cons: carpets on far end of hotel need to be replaced
Location: Calwell, Idaho exit 29 off 1-84. Super convenient, close to trailer sales, western store, freeway and on a quiet street.
We reserved a king room and were booked for a king suite with a jet tub and kitchenette for less money then a standard room. That room had new paint and carpet and the whole in room experience was better then expected. The stairs and hallway carpet were old and had paint splatters, so I expect it will also be replaced soon.

Nice, pet friendly hotel.

The hotel has a nice, grassy area for pets, though the dog pooh bag holder was empty, which may have been why there were a few "land minds" laying around. There was also a nice lawn behind the hotel with BBQ's that some families my use. My kid took advantage of the indoor pool, which was nice considering it was in the 40's during our stay.
