Entirely adequate

Posted Sep 13, 2016
Pros: View of the mountains.
Cons: I miss carpet in the rooms.
The location and facility were fine. Located not far from the Boise downtown area. Parking lot was clean and safe feeling. Lobby was pleasant, as were the employees. There's nothing fancy about the hotel, but it's a solid 3 star. One odd thing was that the room had a wood floor, rather than the traditional carpet. It was basic and clean, but didn't feel very homey with that hard floor. The room itself was quiet, and the walls seemed to be built more solid than the usual hotel room. Decor was adequate. Room lighting better than average, with plenty of light and fixtures. Bathroom shower enclosure tile needed a bit of help with some fresh grout, but otherwise fine. I ended up paying more for the hotel that what I would have expected, and more than the rate posted in the room, so value for the money wasn't especially good for me. The pool looked inviting, although I didn't use it. The temperature was good, and the water seemed crystal clear and smelled good. Obviously well maintained.

Comfortable stay

Posted Sep 12, 2016
Pros: Room service staff was so friendly and professional. Bed and pillows were very comfy.
Cons: Bathroom should have a second look after cleaning to catch any missing "spots".
Location: This was the Boise, ID location. Right in downtown and close to all the restaurants and bars.
My stay was comfortable. The room was nice over all. However, the bathroom could have been a little cleaner, ie.: the tub/shower.

Dated and run down.

Posted Sep 6, 2016
Pros: The coffee bar was about the best thing there.
Cons: General appearance, and up keep.
Location: Very close to downtown and lots of good restaurants close by. Also close to the zoo, botanical gardens, etc.
I did not like the cheap wood floors. I prefer carpet in a hotel for the quiet factor. The room was decent, but not worth the price. Staff was very polite and professional.

Close to downtown!

Posted Aug 29, 2016
Pros: The vinyl floors were odd and not comfortable, but made it really clean. It would have been nice to have a rug.
Cons: The vinyl floors were odd and not comfortable, but made it really clean. It would have been nice to have a rug.
Location: 2 minute bike ride!
Nice big room w a balcony. Great to have the bikes to ride around on, saved on parking, 2 minutes to downtown. We lost a wallet and someone turned it in with all of the cash and cards.

Not what I expected for the price

Posted Aug 25, 2016
Pros: Location was good.
Cons: Cleanliness and price matching other booking sites. It was late on a Monday and I'm sure they had plenty of rooms available.
Location: Downtown was a 15 minute walk with several restaurants and bars
It was okay, but for the price I definitely expected more. The entryway to the room was dirty, a couple of the towels were stained and one had an obvious footprint mark on it. Didn't help I think the upstairs neighbors were herding buffalo. Had to book the hotel online through Expedia right at the front desk because their rate was more expensive. This is after I called the booking office and got a better quote than what they quoted me at the desk or Expedia but Red Lion wouldn't honor it.

Don't use the bathtub!

Posted Aug 25, 2016
Cons: Try deep cleaning your tubs and toilets. And don't put people in rooms above the bands when they are playing....ridiculous!
One thing I look forward to is a nice, hot bubble bath at the end of the day. I sat in the tub, soaking, and noticed underneath both soap dishes there were layers of soap scum that has been accumulating for God knows how long. There was even mold growing on the disgusting things. Plus the toilet bowls, underneath the rim, probably really haven't been scrubbed since the underneath of the soap dishes were done! Plus the hotel staff put us in a room directly over the Salsa band that was playing for 2 nights from 9pm to 1am! Come on, people, who would want a room above that noise? And, of course, we had to move to another room and were not offered any assistance at all!

Convenient location!

Posted Aug 17, 2016
Pros: Location!
Cons: Some areas of the hotel (bar and hallways) were a little dark. Could be brightened up a little....
Location: Downtown and Hyde Park were within walking distance.
We stayed here for 3 nights and had no issues. The staff was helpful and friendly! We were able to walk to the downtown area from the hotel. The hotel was also close to the highways which was nice. One night we ventured down to the hotel's restaurant. Had a few drinks and some bar food, reasonable prices and personable bartender. Would stay here again!

my daily routine

Posted Aug 6, 2016
There was never and coffee and or cups in the room. I would hunt down the maids but the only word they speak is no no no. This was every day. I called down to front desk no help there either. Also I was there for work I needed Internet and I only had service for one night. It's old hotel and needs to be updated
