Nice hotel closed to the central station

Pros: The hotel garden was nice.
Cons: Breakfast - do with more cooked food choices.
Location: Option of catching the train or walking around in Bologna. There were good restaurants within 10 minutes walk
Generally good experience staying in this hotel. The room was basic but sufficiently comfortable. Room service was good and discreet.

Nice hotel right across from train station

Location great as across from train station and close to shops, but quite expensive. Lighting and shower/bath setup in bathroom was poor. Bed was too soft and had a big uncomfortable seam in the middle. Facing the garden was nice. Book early for a decent rate!

Very accessible position opposite the railway station. Excellent breakfast. The décor was slightly dated .

Excellent hotel and great location

Pros: See above plus they provided an excellent buffet breakfast each morning.
Cons: I can't think of anything
Location: The hotel has a central location and was very close to Piazza Maggiore (about a 15-20min walk) through the elegant walkways of central Bologna.
I'd highly recommend the Mercure Bologna Centro to anyone coming to Bologna. The rooms were very spacious and clean with nice touches like a trouser press, hairdryer, complementary beverage's on arrival. I also liked the shoe polishing machine located on each floor, little touches like these show they really care about their customer's experience. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful; they even printed off our Boarding Documents for our return journey.

Just the Room I Needed

Pros: Location, cleanliness, efficiency.
Cons: Some updating...
Location: Train station - Coop Supermarket for picnic not far away.
I was delighted by the hotel. It was right across from the train station - so that I could hop over and catch a train to Ravenna for a day trip and for my departure to Venice. The room was smallish but not bad. There was a nice deep European bathtub in my room so I could soak in the warmth. Since it is winter - and cold outside - that was nice. There was a hotel lounge with deep comfy sofas. The front desk check-in was friendly and quick.

When you miss the last train to Florence ☺

The staff were very helpful and provided me with a phone charger and toothbrush as I missed the train back to Florence. They also provided a takeaway breakfast as I had to leave early. Thank you.

Convenient as close to station. Room was pretty dated and not in great condition, eg broken fixtures, alarm clock, hangers, etc. Bed wasn't the most comfortable either - soft springs and creaking. Checking in was pretty slow, but check out efficient. However, given the price, it is adequate if needing to be close to transport.
