Pros: Staff
Cons: Update rooms
Stay was fine but hotel seemed to be out dated. Mattress was so soft that even my eight year old said his back hurt. Room was clean and staff were extremely nice. Breakfast was good as well. Not really complaining but did expect a little more from a Holiday Inn but I do realize hotels do age.

This is in a great location. Very convienent to everything. The rooms are very big and nice and clean. Breakfast was good.

Nice place to stay!

I spent a little more for a room with a balcony, and I'm sure glad I did! It turns out that those particular rooms also come with a fridge and microwave, which is not included in their standard rooms... We were happy to have a place to store and reheat our leftovers! The road that runs in front of the hotel is a busy road, so there was the constant "hum" of traffic, but it never seemed excessive to me. However, if you're the type that needs absolute quiet in order to sleep, I would suggest requesting a room in the back of the property. Breakfast was pretty typical for this class of hotel... a few hot options, but nothing exceptional, and overall a little crowded. The room decor was nice and modern, and seemed clean enough. The beds were fairly comfortable. For the price, I felt this was a great place to stay while in Boone!

The hotel does not look bad if you visit it shortly, however, if it happens for you to spend more than one night there you will find all kind of inconveniences that will add up and make your experience miserable. Take our stay - Dec. 24 to 30, 2015. Our first room appeared to be clean, however, the water in the bathtub would not drain - so after a shower the bathtub was 2/3 full of water. The receptionist changed our room because of it - and we were presented with an upgraded version - a room that had a refrigerator, a microwave and luggage holders - the other basic room, for $140 a night did not have a luggage holder - imagine that - pretty cruel I would think! However, all those upgrades did not prove much - the bathroom tiles were dirty, the shower curtain was hanging loose, so after another shower we had a flood on the floor. In addition there was no thermostat on the A/C/heating unit and the refrigerator was really loud and its freezer did not work. We liked our room quiet but you had no change of that with that equipment - and the hotel was only 13 years old - that's quite recent isn't it, the thermostats were invented by then.

Very busy weekend. Lots of traffic seeing the sights. Tweetsie Rairoad was good. Had a good stay and hotel people very fruendly and helpful.

Very spacious room and bathroom, and the bed was so comfortable. I slept great, and will definitely stay there next time I'm in Boone. Love the cinnamon rolls!!!
