We stayed a week.
A property representative meets you at the ferry dock area to guide you to the home (in their vehicle or you follow in yours.) Check-in was a bit confusing as the lady only spoke French, but I can't expect more. (Maybe the lady checking us in could have what she was saying transcribed in English so English-speakers could follow along. There is a book with house info on the counter, though, that didn't help in that moment.)
The house is next to IC Le Moana's boat dock. You can walk right over to the IC or walk down the road (.2 mile) to Lucky House to enjoy a meal. There is also a little market across the main street from Lucky House. Further down the road, easily walkable, are a few more restaurants.
There is noise from adjoining properties and the IC (from people and boats coming in and out,) but this didn't bother us. The boat traffic makes it a bit harder to snorkel or swim in front of the house. It's not impossible --you just have to be careful.
The kitchen and master bathroom have been remodeled recently. The master has ocean views with en suite. The other bedroom has no views (carport,) and a bathroom next door. Both have A/C that works well. The main house does not. There are overhead fans that aren't fast enough to feel like they're helping. There was one standing fan that didn't work. That main space desperately needs a few fans ppl can move around. It gets very hot inside, even with windows open, and that would make a huge difference for comfort.
Since you're on Matira point, you can view the sunrise from the property (view is decent - it's slightly obscured by all the boat docks,) or walk to the other side of the point (within minutes) to watch the sunsets. The public beach on the sunset side is expansive and beautiful. Bring water shoes for either beach -- there are urchins....
All in all, we enjoyed our stay. It's a nice location if you don't want to have a car. (We did, but some days we didn't use it.) Matira is the nicest beach on the island and we felt confident the house was a better choice, for us, than staying at a resort.
The bonus -- if you use LePlage for any boat tours, they leave from the IC dock steps away. Absolutely do a snorkel tour on your stay.... it was amazing.
